This should have been required reading before buying the Maverick Hybrid...sigh...been having this issue for the last few months. I do appreciate all the work many of y'all have put in and experiences and knowledge y'all have put out.

It is fixable but a challenge and requires about three trips to a good dealer. They have to go step by step even though they know it won't be fixed until the final step. It is a little bit frustrating but with a lot of persistence mine is now fixed. Maybe it will be good for another couple years or so before it rears its ugly head again.

Sounds like this truck isn't going to work for me with my 6 minute commute to work. I figured I'd save so much in gas, and so far I have coming from a 2020 F250 7.3 Tremor, but this battery drain thing is going to be a lingering issue. Had I known, I likely would've gotten the 2.0 turbo.

Probably for reliability the ecoboost is the way to go esp if you don't drive much. I drive a fair bit so I'm saving a lot on gas. If your commute is really short, you could always fully charge the battery with a trickle charger once a week.

There are some posters that report driving infrequently and/or short drives, and in cold areas - and have no indications of a low battery issue.

Then again so infrequent - they may not notice lights off sooner than when first driven on purchase - who stands around for 30 min observing!
And some may not use Fordpass to be informed when the final battery saver action is taken.

Get a power port USB adapter that has a Volt reading on it.
If you have a multimeter, see how much it's off by to do the mental math daily before you start it, pausing on Acc mode.
When you see it drop from 12.7 to below 12.1 - you'll know you are an unlucky one.
Otherwise - may not have any issues until normal modern car battery wear-out time - 3 to 4 yrs.

I feel your pain, but it's not dampening my spirits!
I like my 25 XL(7 months old, 3,500 miles). The first accessory I bought was a battery jump box. Last month I bought a Noco 1 battery tender to use as necessary.
My battery's SOC has been on a dive recently, Battery voltage is now 12.1 Volts after sitting two or three days. I'm retired, so the inconvenience of babysitting the 12V battery is minimal for me.
I expect the battery to take a crap in about 2 years and I am hopeful that at that time the intrepid Ford engineers will have conquered the Hybrids battery management system. Still it does suck, for a new truck!

resale value? who wants to inherit this ongoing problem
Carvana does.

I've sold 3 vehicles in a matter of 3-4 years and they've done good by me. Just checked, I'm upside down only 770$ if I were to sell it to them. Not too bad, although weighing whether it is worth it. Rather annoying predicament to be in again.

Clutch in Canada offers great prices for the hybrid here it's in demand. Even though my battery issue is solved for now I would still keep it even if it wasn't as I can charge the battery occasionally manually no big deal. I also bought a portable booster just in case. The truck otherwise is phenomenal and nothing to rival it yet on the market.

Finally got this forum to post images...I guess it doesn't work with Brave browser.

I do believe this is the original battery, but with all the warranty work due to recalls, I don't really know. Tempted to just try the AGM battery. Just drove the truck around for an hour or so, not sure it really helped. I need to pull fuse 11 still. I appreciate this forum and the information provided.

That is.
Neg posts appears to say made 35th week of 2022 - really nice life, made in Spain like my 1st one was.
Mine made it 19 months since manufacturer date.

Oh - if you don't have a charger at home (because wall electric is cheaper than engine/HVB electric), you only need to let the truck be in Ready mode - don't need to drive a get tire wear and use even more fuel.
It's built in charger doesn't care if you are driving or not, nothing will change sitting or driving.
If like all those with scan tool logging - it went to float charge around 15 min. 1/2 amp.
It'll take hours and hours to fully charge that way - truck's charger, or wall charger.
May be easier to use the wall charger though.

Those that are fixed, are fixed. . Fortunately, most are fixed. It's just a stubborn few that give us a headache even after we try everything Ford suggests

So took mine in with info from here, and a Ford case number. Dealer said we have to run diagnostics and make sure your vehicle wasn't in accident. Not happy with that response, but I guess it's SOP! So after car there for 8 hours, and not knowing if they called in on case number, got standard response. "We ran all diagnostics, all software up to date. The battery does keep a charge, so we replaced with AGM"

I guess just a ticking bomb waiting to raise its head later
