Will you be offering any type of discount for ordering a 2023 Escape?

Wife likes driving my Maverick and she really likes the look of the new Escapes, I presume driving experiences are very similar. Would love to order from Granger and plan a road trip whenever it arrives!
I have a ‘20 Escape. It and my Mav have the same 18” Michelin tires, and same 2.0 AWD drivetrain. The Mav rides better. Mainly because the Mav has a longer wheelbase. That makes a big difference. The Escape does not ride terribly, but it is not as smooth as the Mav. The Mav rides much closer to my ‘17 Fusion I traded in.

Tim Bartz the Ford Vid Guy from Long McArthur Ford on a recent YouTube vid showed himself explaining they manually switch all custom orders as priority 2. He actually had his computer screen from his desk showing such a change.

Only Ford can update to the 2 priority code.

I think you misunderstood @fordvideoguy . They put their retail orders at 10. The region moved them to 2.

We can't change orders to priority 2, Ford does that. If we have a priority 2 order that we make changes to where we have to change it to a 10 to make the changes we have to get our Ford Rep to change it back to 2.

Whoa! This is BIG news. I realize you do not have all the details yet from Ford, but generally speaking, it sounds like what you are saying is that Ford is making changes to the allocation system that will actually penalize dealers for offering incentives that attract a large volume of retail orders from out of the area.

Am I reading in between the lines correctly, or am I wrong?

And, @fordvideoguy, surely you are also getting wind of this if there are going to be significant changes to the MY23 allocation system. I am sure I am not alone when I say I would be VERY interested in hearing more about this in your weekly video on Tuesday evening, both in terms of how allocations will change for MY23 and also the "obligation" referred to by the OP relative to fulfilling MY22 orders pushed to MY23.
I may have to get more information, I'm not aware of a change but maybe they have been told about a change and we have yet to be told that information. We had a meeting with Ford last week that got canceled, maybe this was the topic.

@Granger Ford is always on top of things. One of the good dealers doing their customers right.

I will be doing what I can to find out information before the livestream.

No additional allocation for COVP orders for 23MY. There was a dealer broadcast on Aug 19th.

Greetings to everyone,

There are some changes that are going to substantially change how the retail order allocation process works for the 2023 model year. We have yet to see how this all plays out until the 2023 model year allocation starts. With that being said, we are not going to be taking any retail orders to start the 2023 model year for 2 reasons.

1. We are obligated to fulfill the existing 2022 orders that will carryover to 2022.
2. I'm not confident we can offer the same (or similar) discount on 2023 models until I see how the allocation formula plays out.

Once we find out more information we'll be happy to pass it along, but I wouldn't anticipate an update until around the first of the year. That should give us enough time to fulfill existing orders as well as get our heads around the new allocations formula's full implications.

Seems like if you won't be taking retail orders til next year while most every other dealer will possibly be taking them starting this year that if Ford determines it'll just go with First in First Out that anyone putting an order with you in 2023 will be way in the back of the line.

Probably better than having a bunch of customers ticked off who ordered right away and the allocation system changes means they aren't getting built for 10+ months while it's out of Granger's control. So you can be first in line at some other dealer or be willing to wait but get the discount Granger is offering.

Do you have an email newsletter, or waiting list to keep us updated for Maverick my2023 orders? I'd like to be in the loop in case I miss it on here.

Wasn't there a time not so long ago when Ford was supposedly going away from allocations, in terms of retail orders? Thus a retail could order could be placed at any dealer, then fulfilled by Ford on a FIFO basis (assuming parts were available to build it of course) regardless of the dealer it was ordered from or that dealers allocations. The allocation model was to stay but would only apply to dealer stock orders and the allocation fiasco would no longer have any implications on retail orders.

@NJBob reminded me of this a bit yesterday, which I do recall seeing elsewhere several times as well.

Thank you for the update @Granger Ford

My order is likely to rollover to MY23 and I while I get that you won’t run a promotion on new MY23 orders, I think it would be unfair for any of us to ask or expect that you don’t take any new MY23 orders until ours are fulfilled.
Ford will likely place the rollovers at a PC2, and for those that aren’t place us at a 10. For brand new retail orders place them at a 19.
