Dealers can place a stock order today. Only retail order banks closed. All retails will have a higher priority than any stock. But if a dealership has only hybrid retail engines ordered and Ford only has gas engines to build, a stock unit will get pulled.
Rumor has it that allocation was off of Escape, Ranger, and Bronco Sport sales. Dealers didn’t have enough sales history on Maverick yet. Bronco and Maverick don’t follow normal allocation formula.
If they are over 600 retail orders, the chances of them all getting built are approaching zero. I like Tim, but they should seriously considering pausing their orders.
I’d feel much more comfortable placing a deposit. If it drives others away, I’d get my vehicle faster. It also seems like more of a commitment in case someone was tempted to sell my truck to someone else.
It is dependent by state. In Kansas, rebates are considered cash towards the price, so it does not reduce the taxable price. Ford Pass Rewards points are shown as a discount, so that does reduce the price and the associated taxes. 9.1% isn’t much fun either.
