Here is another battery question/observation. I have this battery (see photo) in my Hybrid. I understand that most Hybrids came with the BXT99RT-99RT4-A. This battery is a flooded acid. Have not seen anyone else on this site with the one I have. Can't seem to pull it up on google either. Odd. Anyone have any clues? Just curious as I am having zero problems, but want to investigate for "WHEN THE TIME COMES" Kind of sounds like the death knoll eh? Haha. Thinking the "BA"

Thinking the "BA" means AGM type?

That 10655 number is a Ford engineering number and not a Motorcraft battery part number. The BA at the end does not indicate the battery type.

I had the same battery in Maverick 2.5L. Same one in my Escape 2.5L
The Ford FLA has Service PN BXT-99RT4-A on the white label.
Maverick 2.5L Ford LX6T-10655-BA - Service PN BXT-99RT4-A.webp

The battery shown in post 46 is the standard flooded Maverick Hybrid battery. The Motorcraft number appears nowhere on the battery.

It’s identical to the battery sitting on my garage shelf I pulled from my ‘23 Hybrid 4 days ago when I replaced it with a new Diehard Gold T4 battery, and the same I pulled from my ‘22 Hybrid a year ago when replacing it with a new Diehard as well.

Good luck

Thanks for the feedback. How long did you get out of your battery? I have had this rig since late October and so far no issues. Will go AGM replacement when it does die!

I replaced my '22 battery after 5 months due to it's inability to hold a charge (I was charging every 4-5 days) resulting in continued Deep Sleep issues. I just replaced the battery in my '23 a few days ago after ~8 months of ownership as it was beginning to exhibit the same issues. IMO the standard flooded battery design (vs AGM) is not the issue, it's the poor OEM Motircraft batteries. The factory battery in my Raptor failed in less than a year, one in my Platinum Expedition as well as my wife's Platinum Explorer failed in just over a year, though in 2 other of my previous Expeditions lasted 3+ years before I sold those vehicles..

And I'd rather invest the $220 in a quality battery and install myself rather than take my trucks to the dealership and deal with those headaches...

good luck

Thanks for the info. Will see how long I get out of mine. I'm used to Toyota products, owning them continuously since 1980. I got from 4-8 years on those batteries.

My 2002 Explorer has a BXT-65-750 FLA battery that I bought in 2018 when I still worked at a Ford dealer. It's still working fine.

I don't agree with blanket statements that Motorcraft battery's are not good,

You don't have to agree...... LOL

My experience is that the last ~10 Motorcraft batteries I've owned appear to suffer from an infant mortality issue and ...If... they last past ~1 year they are good for many years.

I've replaced (2) Maverick hybrid T4 batteries in the last year, 1 on my Raptor, and 1 each on my Expedition and my wife's Explorer... I've had another ~5 that lasted 3-5 years or until I sold the vehicle with no issues.

I did have a Motorcraft battery that failed after only 3.5 years of use which is not great in my opinion.

brand really doesn't have much to do with it. The type of battery used, the batteries specs, how it's made and how the charge is maintained by the vehicle and yourself has a lot to do with how long the battery lasts. Of course there might be some batteries that are defective when new or batteries that go bad quicker but it really depends on a lot of variables that have nothing to do with brand.

Volkswagen had the battery under the seats
I recall when a co worker had an Audi he said his heavy set mother in law sat in the back. The battery shorted and caused a fire. For some reason that story always bothered me.
As well it should.
