Just started doing my spring maintenance on my '23 XLT Hybrid.
The multimeter showed my battery was at 11.5V with engine shut down and 15.2V with engine running (and full accessories load).
AFAIK, the passive reading indicates the battery is failing. I've requested a replacement (under warranty) as I have a big road trip scheduled in a month.
But I'm worried about the second reading. Isn't 15.2V excessive? I've read that it could damage the battery.

Seems to be what people here report when they do the same test, so I assume that's just how the Hybrid Maverick is programmed.

I believe Max is 15.6v. Battery damage is not so much the voltage but the amount of current. It amounts to how many amps the BMS is passing through the battery as well as how long the pulses are.

Battery damage is not the problem, but computer voltages are. That's why all the manuals that come with these newer chargers state that the battery should be disconnected before running a repair cycle.

Mine is still hanging at 11.8, tad better lately with warm weather.

Dealership will test it, if better than like 39% SOH and it still starts the truck - they figure not an issue yet.
Get a jump pack for peace of mind - Project Farm recent review had some good ones.

Don't worry about the 15+ Volts, very quickly (under 5 min) after running the Amps is down to about worthless level (2 or less). Hence being at 11.5 V.
Though your trip will likely do it some good.

Yep, since Ford regularly puts up to 15.6 volts on circuit the truck is obviously designed to handle that voltage. The repair cycles on the newer maintainers will have much higher voltages than that which could possibly fry the electronics. Most are overly concerned about their battery only and not their truck.

11.5 seems a little low when car not running, but I'm used to older cars, where it's around 12.5 or so, and 15 volts while engine is on seems a bit higher than the older systems, which were around 14.8 or so. I used to have a voltage logger, attach to a battery and it checks the voltage every hour or so and stores it, then you could upload to a spreadsheet and see over time what you had. If you find a a cheap one it's worth the purchase that way you can show the data to ford.
