I work in the automotive industry as a product design engineer for a major OEM supplier. A cars development cycle is ~5 years long. This vehicle was in development long before Covid hit. Covid, supply chain, chip shortage, natural disasters, and port delivery issues have caused disruptions, and is constantly creating a moving target. No one has a crystal ball to understand when the major issues will be resolved and everyone is operating hand-to-mouth. It's impossible to predict even 6mo into the future right now.

Wasn't the Maverick's process much shorter than typical?

Got a production date of March 7 on Jan 20th. Followed on Jan 27th by an "adjustment" to April 4th week for production. Yay! Not!

anyone notice how on the ford.com build configurator how they removed the hood scoop option and added the bed topper to the accessories list

I also noticed that on the vin lookup site it doesn't list the keyless entry and hood scoop I ordered. should it? should it not?

I don't know anything specifically about the Maverick development cycle. Maybe it was shorter than typical. Yes everything is a mess right now. Seems like new fires to put out every day with the supply chain just to keep up with orders.

One of our suppliers gave us a 14 month lead time

Those are going to be dealer installed so I don't think they will show up on the order tracking.
