I watched the entire video. Ford got the recall notice in September. They continued to build defective vehicles for almost 2 months. Why build almost 30k vehicles that you already know need repairs? They took TWO whole days between model years. Disappointing.
What does the recall have to do with the transition to a different model year that uses a different infotainment system software?

They are not related.

I think I know the answer as no ,,, BUT I thought I would ask If your 22 or 23 went in for service at dealer for say Wiper motor recall. Could the dealer say we cant give it back until rear camera recall fix? I rather doubt it but was wondering if that is possible? I would think not. but any chance it is?
Had my wiper motor recall done yesterday. No.

I still don't get what a 6 week quality hold will accomplish on the 25s. For 22-24 things have been found over the years (deep sleep, CV issues, back up camera) not over a few weeks.
Think about it. The quality control group are all busy working on testing And repairing the 2024's. When they are finished they can start on the first 2025 quality control checks. Then after they have found no problems for several days or weeks they continue towards the end then if they find a booboo they will double check the first one for that booboo, etc. maybe first 25 mid Jan???

@fordvideoguy you say the release of the software fix "shouldn't take long" after stating the advance recall notice was issued 9/13/24.
That means as of today, 12/3/24, we're minimum 81 days out from Ford acknowledging this problem. Yet there's still no fix.
What's "not long" in Ford time?
Your mention of 2023 Ford Escapes with the same camera system having issues makes me wonder what Ford did to fix those?

Sorry Long McArthur is stuck with 90 unsellable Mavericks while Ford figures this out.
It's Not Long to fix once the figure out the fix and release it. Then it will happen as quickly as dealer can schedule it!🤗

I watched this and it was helpful, and probably if I can rewatch I'd find my answer, is the six week hold applied to each build or is it overall? So the trucks built 11/11 are held for 6 weeks, right. But my truck is scheduled for next week is it held for six weeks from it's build date, or only an additional 2 as the first trucks were held for 4 already?
I am in the same boat as you as mine is to be built next week. Anyone know? Thank you.

I meant to say that once they get the fix, it won't take long to complete them.

This happens on virtually every new year where there are any changes. Also, they will make sure all of the 2024's are shipped to dealers before the first 2025 is shipped.

I have a 2024 XLT Hybrid for 23.5 months now. The rear camera has only froze once in all that time. On a trip in Cape Breton Nova Scotia. It reset itself fifteen minutes later or so. So not a big concern. Hopefully fixed sometime in 2025. Or give me a Sync 4 system.....
So you bought your 2024 in 2022? Impressive.

I'd like to think that, some day, someone will figure out that it's cheaper to do it right the first time than to fix it later. This recall is likely to be more expensive in the end compared to just using the standard Sync system in all trim levels.

I say that and then I remember my life as a senior manager in Corporate America. Someone made decisions based on hitting a quarterly goal to get their bonus or plump up their stock options rather than what was best for the customer and the brand.

With my 22 XLT Eco, I've been through the fuel tank, side curtain airbag, hood sticker, BCM, PCM, and turn signal recalls with the camera recall still to come. Hybrid owners have had it even worse. For each and every one of these, I remember watching the video in which Ford executives bragged about how quickly they brought the Maverick to market. But I'm sure they all got their quarterly bonus checks.

Will there be a 6 week hold on job 2 as well? or is it just because its a new MY off the line
I think Tim, the Ford Video Guy, will be the only one who can answer this question.

I may have misunderstood, but I thought he said that vehicles wiyh Sync 3 are not affected. I just bought a 2024 XLT with 4k Tow and Copilot, picked it up on 11/21/24. I think it has Sync 3 system.

I wonder if the dealer was not supposed to sell the truck ?
