They ain't shutting down the assembly line. Keep building, fix later.
Yep
That's exactly the process Ford used when building the B24 Liberator at Willow Run during World War II. The government kept coming back with changes to the B24. Ford said, they aren't going to stop the assembly line for those changes, they'll make the changes at a different facility after the plane was built.

I swear that some of you must have the last name of Gallo for the incessant whining that goes on in this forum.

Seek out and address what is really causing you to be this miserable. I guarantee it's not your truck.

What do you want them to fix? MY25 doesnt even have the same infotainment system in it at all. It runs SYNC4, which has been in other Ford vehicles for years and any related recalls for that system would have been addressed already by now. Seems to me they fixed it.

As far as the CV axles go, they are also a different design for MY25 and are stronger to support AWD on the hybrids. The speculation is that it is the same CV axle used in the Lincoln Nautilus.

It appears they are attempting to address the issues, at least, from one MY to another, as you would expect.
You could have said the same thing in the past with the old system....it's been used for years in the past.

Anytime you have a new system (for the vehicle) it has potential for bugs.

Did Ford upgrade most hardware, did they compromise and made software changes to work with some old hardware to save cost ? You don't know, so some risk remains.

Since this camera recall affects 22-24 model years, do you think 'used' Mavericks will still be sold? It was mentioned that a hold stop was placed on 24's but I wonder about the others..

Only a few localities prohibit sale of used vehicles based on open recalls. It may also affect CPO certification eligibility.

I have a 2024 XLT Hybrid for 23.5 months now. The rear camera has only froze once in all that time. On a trip in Cape Breton Nova Scotia. It reset itself fifteen minutes later or so. So not a big concern. Hopefully fixed sometime in 2025. Or give me a Sync 4 system.....

I am hoping, when Job 2 production starts, the 6 week quality check hold will not be applied.

This is an interesting distinction. I Googled around a bit and it seems the only people who say you CAN'T sell a used car with an active "stop sale" recall on it are the websites for lawyers and other very "biased" organizations. All the neutral sources were like "Sure, sell that puppy!"

Sure? kind of not related to the original question though, which my reply directly addressed.

"Is Ford going to fix the issues in previous MY for MY25?" The answer seems to be they are attempting to address the issues. This is how manufacturing works.

Do the new modules have issues? Maybe, but you can at least say with certainty that it is not the old module and they are making changes that will address the issues with the old modules.

I think I know the answer as no ,,, BUT I thought I would ask If your 22 or 23 went in for service at dealer for say Wiper motor recall. Could the dealer say we cant give it back until rear camera recall fix? I rather doubt it but was wondering if that is possible? I would think not. but any chance it is?

It's prohibited within New York City. Rental companies (or dealers with >35 rental vehicles) also can't rent or sell vehicles with open recalls under Federal law.

Why didn't Ford take some time between the model years and work on improving quality instead of trying to fix them after there already assembled? According to the video 2024 Maverick production ended on Friday November 8th and 2025 production began on November 11th. I'm having second doubts about taking delivery of a vehicle that was built the first week of production.
Because the fix for the rear cameras will be a software update for the non sync 3 systems.

@fordvideoguy you say the release of the software fix "shouldn't take long" after stating the advance recall notice was issued 9/13/24.
That means as of today, 12/3/24, we're minimum 81 days out from Ford acknowledging this problem. Yet there's still no fix.
What's "not long" in Ford time?
Your mention of 2023 Ford Escapes with the same camera system having issues makes me wonder what Ford did to fix those?

Sorry Long McArthur is stuck with 90 unsellable Mavericks while Ford figures this out.
