thank you for sharing all the info you get on the Mavericks.

what do you recommend doing if a dealer sold my ordered Maverick on 11/22 but did not let me take it home?

they did the paperwork, took my trade, and cashed my check (for the entire remaining balance) and now i have no vehicle. they gave me a ride home and said they'd check with Ford at the start of the following week to see if there was a software update / fix available yet, and would provide me a loaner if it'd be an extended period of time. after nearly a week of asking the sales rep, i just heard back from him today that the service manager said there are no loaners currently available (and other customers are also waiting for them).

the dealer seems like a good one and i don't want to get them in trouble if it's not legal to sell a vehicle with recall, though i also don't want to be without a vehicle for much longer. can a dealer work with Ford to get more vehicles on the loaner program? or can they work with Ford to give me an upgrade (at no additional cost) to another new AWD / 4wd vehicle that's properly set up to tow at least 4000 lbs like my Maverick is?

I would demand my money returned or demand a loaner, so you can put miles on that one.

I think I know the answer as no ,,, BUT I thought I would ask If your 22 or 23 went in for service at dealer for say Wiper motor recall. Could the dealer say we cant give it back until rear camera recall fix? I rather doubt it but was wondering if that is possible? I would think not. but any chance it is?
I had my 2023 XLT hybrid inspected in September and they checked my wiper motor. They said the part # was not part of the recall. I have declined the other 4 recalls. NHTSA shows many hybrids loosing power after owners reported having recalls performed. My camera has not frozen yet. I always turn my head and look while backing up. I also use my side mirrors. People should be able to tell while backing up that the image is not changing.

Just an observation of the trauma, related to this topic (post).
It appears, through my daily driving.
That "Basic Driving Skills" have and are, No longer taught. To drivers.

Is ford paying for damages for the camera not working?
if so i have a bill they can pay for ,plus a rear bumper they can replace.
They will pay for the camera update but I doubt they will pay for any repairs for the damage of your vehicle. As they say, you can always try.

Hey Tim, since you are on the forum right now, I have a question for you...do you know if job 2 orders will have a quality check hold on them?

Sorry if my original question wasn't clear. How does Ford determine the quality is good? They must be quality/torture testing some vehicles (ours or theirs)? Otherwise, just letting them sit in a parking lot would be a waste of time. Thanks for everything you do for the club!
When I was at a plant in Chicago they would assemble the vehicles and they might assemble a bunch before they realize that they have a faulty or bad part from a batch. This way they can go back and see which vehicles were built with that batch of bad parts and hold them to fix before shipping out. If they catch it before releasing them, it does need to activate a recall.

I'm not 100% sure this is what is happening, just sometime I've seen first hand while touring a Ford plant.

I watched the entire video. Ford got the recall notice in September. They continued to build defective vehicles for almost 2 months. Why build almost 30k vehicles that you already know need repairs? They took TWO whole days between model years. Disappointing.
Ford ISSUED the recall notice in Sep.
Obviously hoped for a slow fix routine.
NHTSA (or other equally able entity) forced a stop sale until fixed just a couple weeks ago.

It's an intermittent issue on some vehicles - they don't fail to operate on all vehicles.

I assume you are saying that you hit something because the camera froze on you. I'm not sure. Great question for your insurance agent and Ford to discuss. I don't see it happening.

Does the six week hold apply for the production week that you’re in or just the first production week?

for example, Nov 11 mavs get held until Dec 30 (or whatever). Will Dec 9 mavs get held until Jan 27 or will they release on Dec 30?

It'd be from the initial production. That said don't expect them to then ship chronologically; it'll be based on whatever ones they can load up first. So one that just got built might go on the train faster than one that was held for the six weeks.
