Thank you. I will check that out. The other issue is the larger size of my clamp on maintainer. I’m partial to the NOCO due to its much smaller size. Also not sure how mine would hold up in a heated engine bay.
Actually the Noco should be mounted as close to the battery under the rear seat as possible since it adjusts charging parameters due to temperature. Would not materially affect charging overnight if truck had been turned off for several hours. Placing noco under seat introduces consideration of running 120v line from wall to the noco maintainer. With Ford BMS between noco and battery one would naturally assume that the Ford bms would break ground and turn off the noco if it was trying to charge outside of programmed boundaries of installed battery. (How about that for a can of worms thought???).

Picked up a Noco Genius 10 charger, 2ft 10AWG SAE Power socket, SAE to SAE 25 ft Extension Cable, and a NOCO GC009 X SAE adaptor. Going to pop out the shXty Mabett water filled sidelight marker, pull it apart, dry out and seal it, then drill a hole in if for the Power Socket and wire it to the battery jumper terminals under the hood. The Genius 10 will live in the garage and the extension cable will allow me to trickle charge the 12v battery.
In case you have not guessed...yes "Duke" has been going into battery saver mode on a regular basis. I have never owned a vehicle that has needed this.

I installed an SAE quick connect charging port in the same way as above.

I see that you're using a polarity reverser here. Do you have the port set up for charging and use the reverser when you connect other accessories, or the other way around? What size fuse (A) are you using on the port wiring?

T-Bone, the polarity reverser came with the 2 ft power socket. There is no inline fuse here. I live in a trailer park and the 15 ft SAE to SAE cable is perfect fit for my needs. The new AGM UPlus battery is topped off and I won't need to drive until Monday. We'll see how it holds its charge until then.

A few times last month. When I opened the driver's door, there was no interior light, there was no problem with the vehicle starting.
I turned off everything I absolutely could turn off in the infotainment system Ford pass, Wi-Fi. I pulled fuse number 11/12. Reset the BMS.
So far no problems since doing that. Every time I've gotten in the truck the lights have gone on.
Since I already had a small 4 amp charger /maintainer. I decided to hook it up just in case. I hooked up the charger to the battery and ran the cord underneath the rear seat and the charger fits really nicely right next to the door. I purposely put the charger on the driver side so the chances of driving way with it hooked up are less.

Thanks for the tips fellas, I recently installed a similar receptacle in ours. Worked out much better than through the front grill .

It's not a good idea to have 12V access available outside the vehicle direct to the battery without a fuse.

Just be sure the ground from the charger is not connected to the battery post. It has to be connected to body ground side of the BMS (the small box with the bar code). The BMS MUST METER the current flowing from your charger and will not know how much charge (or used by anything for that matter attached between it and the post. The OEM BMS is a real time battery monitor which is apparently not programmed very well.

I can't even tell what it's logging - the PID doesn't say amps/volts - just a figure.
And that's since last BMS reset. 4 units out, 4 units in. Ok.
Interestingly - no PID for Charge when Ignition Off. So a charging session should put it ahead of the game.
Since it appears they try to maintain balance - I'm guessing one of the readings ain't so good, or after a recharge it should never lower so much again.

I have no idea what you're referring to. Do you have a picture of what it should be connected to?
I connected it to the Post and it charged the battery started out at about 80% and then I got a solid green light which means a full charge.???

So maybe they do not actually count the truncated descriptions? maintainer charge and the 8hr truck locked battery learn routine is super important. If I put my maintainer on underwood jump posts lock truck and leave it for 7-10 days. Truck seems to run much better but who knows. Can you see further out on the

I have not found pic posted of where others have attached negative charger as most just use the jump posts under the hood. Take yours off the post and attach it where the ground cable from battery to body is attached OR on the other end where it attached before the actual post or the nut that attaches BMS to the battery post go past the thing that has the bar code on it. Your charger will charge the battery to 100% BUT THE BMS WILL NOT KNOW IT. should figure it out if you lock the truck with all accessories off and run the 8 hour battery learn procedure. Manual specifically says to not connect anything to negative battery post. I'll look for picture there have been several post them.

Ok This explains the BMS and why! Not on maverick but same sensor computer chip, etc.
