Pretty much my only reasoning for going FX4 would be to get the tow hooks but I am hoping I can be persuaded against opting for the FX4. That being said, has anyone actually used their two hooks? Can a good hitch shackle do the job?

I guess it depends how stuck you are.
I got the FX4 because I wanted the bigger dash screen, the small suspension lift, hooks and stickers... Mostly the dash screen, and since I look at it every time I drive, it was worth it for me.

The fx4 (approx. $800) gave the lariat style larger dash cluster, different wheels, trailer hitch, skid protection, larger fan & radiator as well as the only way to get frame mounted tow hooks (prior to tremor) and was best bang for your money as it was worth it for the dash for myself. But every choice is upto each person whether they want to spend or not 🤷‍♂️

I guess it depends if it can be pulled from the rear end of the truck. Like was posted many other perks or options besides the visible tow hooks and graphics.

What was mentioned in other posts but two additional modes, hill descent, off road screen and all terrain tires were also included on the 24. I haven't looked on the 25 model year if it's the same.

Also if trailering the Maverick the tow hooks can be used. Why I mentioned if can be towed from the hitch sometimes is not an option. Without the front tow hooks nothing to attach in the front especially if it's in mud or sand. Or if you are doing the pulling and your on a two track trying to pull someone out in front of you that's stuck. In other words in a perfect world you might not need them. Only thing for me it never works out that way for me, so I try to be prepared. Also for all that came with the package or FX4 option it was a no brainier. Just to swap the tires to all terrain afterwards basically covers the cost of the option. I opted to upgrade again for the p235 for the same reasoning and I liked the wheels better and the difference tire manufacturer/tread. Not sure if that option is available on the 25. Best of luck with your decision and your new truck.

I used them to pull a very tall tree away from my neighbors house when we were cutting it down.

Tied a rope to the top of the tree and the other end to the front tow hooks. Put the truck in reverse and went slowly backwards as my friend cut it. Landed perfectly.

This was a huge tree and I couldn't even guess as to how much it weighed but the truck and tow hooks handled it perfectly. Tow hooks can be used for more than just getting you or someone else unstuck.

I've done the tree pull as well. But always pull with the tow hitch. If something were to break, there is more protection from the back of the truck. Something coming through the windshield is not good.

Right and I can see the dash screen being a big selling point but I think the 2025 FX4 does not have any upgrade to the screen

I had an '05 Trailblazer with front tow hooks. In 19 years never used them. In every situation it was me giving someone a pull rather than me being the one stuck. I would always pull from the tow hitch. Purchased a clevis for convenience.

Thanks, this is my thinking as well

You mean like pulling it up on the flatbed? From this thread https://www.mavericktruckclub.com/f...emor-off-road-limits-found.56958/#post-963589

Ha! I recognize that place, and actually where I would go camping off roading with my '25!

They couldn't pull from the hitch?

Hitch will work if you need to be pulled backwards, what if you need to be pulled forward?

This is off the build and price site. Hope this helps in what is in the pkg.

Also many posts that utilize tow hooks framework to attach front brush guards etc.

It's a personal decision for sure but it's been posted over and over your not just getting front tow hooks with the FX4 package.

I painted mine, don't want to scratch them.
