My simple monitoring of the 12v battery charge by testing at the power points under the hood doesn't do any real good. Friday, my battery failed the Ford test at the dealer, battery replaced.
24 hours later, the indicated voltage at the underhood connections was 11.43v, actually worse than before, but, no sleep mode indication and everything works as it should. The Mav is going to sleep for the winter so it is in storage as of Friday, the start of this short story. Two days later, (today), I checked the power points again and it showed 12.46v. Whaat?? In between Saturday, and today, the Mav has been inactive and the key fob kept 100 yards away. Left the VOM connected to the power points and simply opened the drivers door. Everything came on as it should but indicated voltage dropped to 11.83v. Since the 12v battery gets its charge from the high voltage battery through the DC-DC converter, it sems pretty obvious that the charge and discharge seems to be completely independent of driving the vehicle, at least to me.

If you check voltage shortly after opening doors etc. It won't be accurate as many items are drawing power. If you want a true voltage 60+ minutes is ideal meaning that open the hood, and don't touch anything besides the voltage terminals.

The 60+ I recall being mentioned somewhere in the service manual.

Your battery was probably already insufficiently charged when you got it. And the truck doesn't seem to allow the charging system to ever fully charge the 12v battery.
This i also my observation. I use a battery charger/maintainer whenever it is parked in my garage, so I know it is fully charged when I start driving. I don't drive the Maverick any different than any other vehicle I own (don't try to hyper mile or anything). When connecting to the maintainer after a drive, it consistently shows the battery state of charge between 70 and 80%. So after driving if it is not fully charged, it can't get better while sitting in the garage without the maintainer. All the other vehicles I own (F350 diesel, Motorhome, Bronco, Corvette, Side by side, Lawn mower) have maintainers connected to them and all of them show 95% state of charge after using them.

Ford, in their great wisdom, decided on a 80% charge level limit for the battery. Using ForScan, I changed the level to 95% in my Maverick. I recommend this to all Maverick owners.

I put my battery on the tender, took 1.5 days for full charge… reset the battery monitoring, and reconnected negative cable to battery.

worked one day.

I will be jumping it to take to the dealer and leave it until it’s fixed. They say they are full for 2-3 weeks.

as soon as it’s fixed, along with the stupid parking brake failure, it’s being sold.

Just had my 8 month old XLT Hybrid at the dealer regarding continual App message. Truck in Battery Saver mode. Please drive to refresh. Checked battery voltage and it is at 11.82 volts and dropping each week. Dealer reset BMS and said the battery is good. Got home and 3 hours later got the message again. Called dealer and they said nothing they could do ford Engineers working on a fix. I'll just have to get used to no Dome light, heat or AC at times and no remote start, until there is a fix. I asked , what happens when the battery goes dead. Do I have to replace it. He said I don't know. This has been going on for more than 2 months First every so often to now, every day. No matter how much I drive! Good luck all of you with this problem. I think I'm done with EV's of any kind.
Hey Mark, I own/have owned 4 hybrids (Toyota (2), Kia, Maverick) and no issues as you are describing. It is not a hybrid issue. Direct message Ford on X and get them working on the issue from the manufacturer side…

Not popular as most don't want to. Put a Nico genius 5 maintainer on jump posts any time but definitely when done light goes off. If dome light is off battery has started to sulfate so the noco needs to stay on several days for the battery to be optimized and sulfate and stratification to by corrected. I put my noco on mine about every three months for approximately a week (not continuously if I need truck). I lock truck overnight when I do this so BMS can see battery fully charged for several days. Have not had sleep session in 33 months.

Yeah, but why double-lock? What does that do in this case? And since when is a honk a chirp? LOL.
The double lock turns off the courtesy light delay, the dash, and lots of stuff but not the PowerPoint delay in one or two seconds. You can walk to door with courtesy lights on and double lock with fob = one honk lock was successful two honks = lock was NOT successful = door or hood not completely shut. It saves at least some of the drain on the 12v battery. Appears to deactivate the communication of the fob moving around truck until your finger is placed behind the door handle as relays don't click while you just walk by in garage. If you have second fob inside truck it will be deactivated until truck is unlocked by exterior fob or the keypad. If you lock fob inside truck with keypad it will deactivate interior fob until keypad unlocks truck = cannot break glass and use key or push button to start truck.

I have had all these problems with my Maverick, and I am sick of it. As soon as the dealer gets it running again it will be traded for something else.
Don't buy a Toyota. Three folks I know with recent hybrids (all different models) have had the same problem.

Cheers.

PowerPoint?
Used to be called cigarette lighter there is one in bed also plus the 110v plugs if you have inverter. The one in bed is pig tail behind the 1"x1.25" square plug near tailgate.

In December, it will be 3 years without a dome light.
Battery issues appear resolved and dome light figured out:
  1. Recent PCM and BCM updates (recall work)
  2. BXT-99RT4-A (battery replaced) -the original battery could hold almost no charge after being depleted so many times
  3. Paint removed from contact area of 12v battery grounding strap area
  4. Forscan set to "AGM" battery
  5. Dome light resets status (default off) whenever truck goes into power saving mode. And changes between day/night. Fixing the battery fixed the dome light issue as well.

Was that literally the order done?
Reset BMS sequence, and then reconnect negative terminal with attached BMS?

I can't imagine that being good for the settings.

But indeed - sounds like bad battery anyway. At least a new battery to include in the sale!

This order:
1) disconnected neg terminal,
2) charged battery,
3) once fully charged, reconnected negative terminal,
4) did the bms reset,
5) started it up.

Parking brake failure still an issue. All lights worked. Drove to work with no issues. It sat at work all day, then when I got in at 5pm, all lights worked. Drove home, parked it in the driveway. Next morning it was dead as a Chinese doornail.
