The 22-24s never had an AGM battery from the factory. If you have an AGM, then it has previously been replaced without warranty. The dealer is required to do warranty replacements with the same part as the factory installed, so a new battery is an AGM only on the 25 models.
Not so. My 23 came from the factory with an AGM.

Well, one of two things
1. You have an EB which did come with AGM, but the hybrid did not up until the MY25 builds
2. The factory ran out of the std flooded cell batteries for the hybrid that day and put in whatever they had on the shelf to keep the line rolling

When did they come up with the software fix. I talked to DEALER a couple weeks ago and they still had nothing. Thank you
There is no software fix.

There is an SSM for a software update to the ACCM that seemed to be the brunt of an intermittent battery drain issue.

That SSM was mis-hoped to be a fix for a low charging strategy that slowly kills the batteries.
It of course was not.

So if you got a battery dead in the morning every once in a while - then that update would be useful.

If you have a battery slowly degrading - nada.

The software update SSM53801 is available. I had it installed several weeks ago on my 24 Lariat hybrid, it did not resolve the battery saver mode. Additionally I insisted they replace the battery (again), only this time install an AGM which they did under warranty after some negotiating. I did have to pay a $100 upcharge but that beats $250 retail. They reset the BMS and did some other reprogramming They even brought in a field service engineer to oversee the process. In the end, the battery saver mode returned and I'm back to square one.
So my advice is: do not pay out of pocket for your own AGM battery. Negotiate with the dealer to get one installed under warranty and it will be covered for another 3 years. Keep in mind it may not help. At the same time get the software update keeping in mind that may not work either. That's about all you can really do and it just might work for you. As for me, I'll keep taking it back until they either fix the problem or they buy it back. Good luck.
Just so both-sides are represented for those that stumble on this thread later. Not to ignore your very real situation.

I had four dead batteries (one a tow situation) in my first 10K miles. Lots of messages.

I paid around $300 OTD (battery and install) for an AGM at my local mechanic. Drove another 15K miles with zero messages or issues.

I guess my point is - your, literal, mileage may vary.

Only caveat I will give here is that I ensure I trickle charge if the truck sits for 3+ days. I have a little NOCO that was around $70 in my garage.

However, I have left it sitting for a week with only short, in-town trips with no issue. That would have produced at least two messages before. For sure.

My ‘23 Lariat Hybrid had 24 FordPass Battery saver alerts over about 40 days.
Never fails to start but just an annoyance. Finally hooked it up to the NOCO charger overnight and no problems for two weeks.
I drove on the freeway to my dealer about 10 miles away for routine maint. visit and had them check the battery. No issues reported and then drove home again on freeway. Next day was in BSM again.
Everyone has different driving habits and BSM issues for vehicles not driven often is obviously common. It comes down to how much you are willing to put up with before taking matters into your own hands and replace the battery for AGM and re program the BMI using ForScan. I am at that point now having complained to two dealers several times and gotten no help.

Ya - their completeness of check is pretty bad it appears, the easy test anyway.

If it appears 3 cells are bad and a 3rd is going that way - for a simple load test (39% SOC seems to be the line) - then replace battery.
Anything above - you'll start.
And it's true it will - but it's about to die soon if close enough. Charge up the jump pack!

But to your experience - they seem to do no testing if it can HOLD the charge if given more.

Actually - it seems the BMS knows there is a problem and lowers the charge so as not to fry the remaining cells so fast. And it does that as poorly as charging!

I had 4 days in a row of 1 hr of total travel time - voltage and internal SOC took a nose dive the next morning.
All that radio playing in Acc mode, and it was a long drive that pushed it over the edge!

The ACCM fix my 2024 Lariat Hybrid. The "remote feature disabled" message and the battery going into deep sleep message was showing up almost every time I drove. Dealer found a service bulletin and this seems to have fixed it.

No 23s came with an AGM battery. I think that the dealer replaced the battery while doing the PDI, because it failed before you received it.

Thanks for that info Scott. I'm glad the ACCM update worked in your case. But the one thing I find interesting in the work invoice is the remark: "battery ok at this time". Almost as if to convey a touch of skepticism, or to say: it's good for now but it might not last. I only comment on this because I've been down the road on the issue with my 24 many times and I always end up back where I started. Best of luck to you that it permanently fixed the problem.

Part of the SSM is recharge the battery.

That by itself was a temp fix to the issue.

If you weren't having a dead battery after a day or two - the ACCM was unlikely to be a problem, because that's what the update was for - an intermittent drain they figured was the ACCM.

Hope your battery holds the recharge for a while.
Start watching for how quickly your overhead lights turn off when you get in - you should notice it getting shorter & shorter in time span.

Report back when you notice off immediately on like stopping and opening door too.
See how long it takes.

My 23 hybrid had the battery replaced in December 2024 as I was getting the battery saver mode on the app and no interior lighting when I opened the doors. Things were OK for about a month until the same issues occurred again.

I had it back in the spring for a recall and they checked the battery again. They told me there were no problems and that Ford would be releasing a service bulletin to correct the issues. I drove it all summer with no interior lights at night.

I just had the truck to the dealership for an oil change and they completed the most recent service bulletin. The app and interior lights worked for exactly one day before the same issues reoccurred.

My mileage is at 31K. I've decided to sell it and get something more reliable instead of adding an extended warranty. 25 years of driving F-150s with no issues have spoiled me.

Don't look at the F150 with the 3.5L Hybrid drivetrain, since it has exactly the same problem with the BMS.

I don't need a truck anymore as I use an aluminum open trailer for hauling. Gonna move to an SUV.
