Just had my 8 month old XLT Hybrid at the dealer regarding continual App message. Truck in Battery Saver mode. Please drive to refresh. Checked battery voltage and it is at 11.82 volts and dropping each week. Dealer reset BMS and said the battery is good. Got home and 3 hours later got the message again. Called dealer and they said nothing they could do ford Engineers working on a fix. I'll just have to get used to no Dome light, heat or AC at times and no remote start, until there is a fix. I asked , what happens when the battery goes dead. Do I have to replace it. He said I don't know. This has been going on for more than 2 months First every so often to now, every day. No matter how much I drive! Good luck all of you with this problem. I think I'm done with EV's of any kind.

Common problem with the 12v (not the high voltage battery) charging system. It's very annoying and many users here have experienced it. At least now, after almost 3 years Ford is starting to do something about it, took way to long.

Same here. Last year it was occasional, this year was similar until I had the batch of recalls and the customer satisfaction update for infotainment done and the problem disappeared. I had no issues all summer until the last month when temperatures finally started to fall and it became an almost daily occurrence. Yesterday I had an oil change, tire rotation and battery test done at the dealer. It failed the test and the battery was replaced. My Mav is only summer driven and the oil change was in preparation for the winter sleep with a NOCO maintainer attached, the same as last year, so there are no unusual or cold temperatures to contend with. Generally a 12v battery showing in the 11.90's or less is considered dead. I too agree that the programming of the charge level and general battery quality are to blame, but Ford has a process and at least my dealer has been very responsive to addressing the issue.

Do you see the voltage somewhere or are you measuring the voltage with a voltmeter?

Voltmeter on the contacts under the hood. Turn the truck on and the voltage shown jumps up to normal charging of 14+volts but battery will degrade to below 12v in less than 2 hours.

Update: Didn't get a deep sleep message but battery voltage at the underhood points shows 11.93v after two days parked with the new battery, so that indicator is apparently not valid. I do know that a battery should be load tested to determine its health but are the underhood points NOT connected directly to the battery? By contrast, my 2011 Subaru with 221,000 miles and the original 13 year old battery reads 12.81v direct to the battery after sitting idle for 28hrs. The Subie battery is slated to be replaced soon as it tests just barely below the acceptable range under load. Grrr.

I replaced my 2022 Battery after 11 months when it started getting Deep Sleep messages constantly and the dealer said it was fine.

11 months later, it was doing the same thing with the "new" Duralast Gold.
I reset the BMS and changed the SOC to 95% in Forscan about 3 months ago and haven't had any deep sleep messages since, but not getting my hopes up.

Your battery is sulphated, thanks to the BMS misprogramming that stops it from ever being fully charged. Flooded batteries need to sit at 95% charge or better to maximize their life. If all you have is a multimeter, that should look like 12.6-13.2V when parked overnight. Don't check it until it has been sitting for at least overnight, to leak off the surface charge. Checking the voltage is not the correct way to test a battery for the charge that it can hold, and the dealer should be using the correct battery tester instead. I guarantee that it would fail a normal load test. Your dealer needs to replace the battery (is it still under the 36mo warranty?), as it is now ruined.
The claim has been made that Ford is working on a software fix for this problem, due out sometime in 1Q2025. Meanwhile, keep getting new batteries. Mine lasted 13 months since manufacture, and yours is probably at 10-11 months including shipping time to the dealer.
If your dealer can't admit that the battery is damaged, get the Ford rep involved, and possibly move to a better dealer who actually trains their mechanics properly.

Didn’t know my Hybrid had a dome light. 😂😂😂. Crazy how Toyota doesn’t have this issue. And for the poster above, there are some great hybrid's out there that don’t sleep all the time. Drove a Prius for 6 years and over 100,000 miles and no issues at all. Only had to change the oil. Maverick is just not quite there yet. Love my truck though.

I’ve been getting save mode messages for months now. If battery test to be low and I pull battery off myself do I take to quick lane or parts to have them replace?

Doubtful.
You have to take it to a Ford dealer and have them test it.
After about a 1 1/2 hour test, they told me mine was fine, and would start the truck. I asked them why it went into deep sleep everyday and they couldn't answer and also would not replace it.

I'm measuring the voltage with a volt meter. Keeps me in the know and from service BS.

I have had all these problems with my Maverick, and I am sick of it. As soon as the dealer gets it running again it will be traded for something else.

Had my Hybrid 13 months and 19k miles on it. Original battery and never any battery issues.

Things I have done:
  • Charged the 12v battery overnight, the first night of ownership. It had been un-driven for over a month from Built to Delivered date, and I figured the battery needed a full charge.
  • Pulled fuse #11, disabling the battery-sucking Telematics unit.
  • I put a NOCO battery tender on it whenever I won't be driving it for a few days. Then disconnect the tender, reset the BMS and don't drive it for 8 hrs afterward.
  • Double lock it with the fob, every time I get out of it (even in the garage, which is annoying).
I have absolutely no idea if any of this has helped. But I've always been a believer in keeping lead-acid batteries mostly fully-charged, to prolong battery lifetime. I've also had OEM vehicle batteries last 7 years (aftermarket over 8 yrs) by doing battery maintenance.

Should we have to do all this? Hell no. And Ford needs to hurry up and fix whatever-TF is causing some of these trucks to not hold a proper charge, thereby shortening the battery life by sulfation.

I had the problem on my '22 Maverick Lariat and the same problem on my '24. After having the dealer pickup my '24 twice and checking the battery/charging system they put in a new battery. So far, so good but not holding my breath. As I told my dealer the main problem is in the charging system or software. I think they have the software set to limit how much and/or how often the alternator charges the battery probably thinking it will save on the fuel economy. I'll give up a tenth or two per gallon to have a fully charged battery and all my accessories working properly.
