was looking at having my truck built with BFG KO2's, but the '25 lariat hybrid comes with 19's..not many tire options for a decent looking quality all terrain tire..now I'm already getting discouraged

  1. Sell your 19” OEM wheel and tire set.
  2. Find some 17” wheels you like.
  3. Put whatever giant A/T tires you want on them.
This forum is a great place for ideas on new wheels, as well as a possible market for selling/buying. No point in getting discouraged over a non-issue.

Trust that feeling and get your money back now. The configuration your describing for a unibody economy car makes about as much sense as tits on a bull. Get a truck for those K02's.

Definitely NOT all terrain tire but new tires are coming out almost monthly. These are for commuters but are 101H rated 51psi. November continental special (less $110/4) with low rolling resistance. Read description on Tire Racks site seems to be more updated than Discount Tire site(??).

There are quite a few disappointed 25 Lariat order holders due to the 19” wheels.

I will likely drive the Maverick with the OEM 19” wheel/tires and then decide as they wear down if I can find a suitable 19” AT tire or need to drop to a 17” wheel.

I've pretty much consigned myself to the fact that I'll be running the 19's until I upgrade the tires and wheels: I have decided to, most likely, go with 18's & 255/55R18's

Hybrid owners have reported the Firestone Destination AT 2 are a fairly aggressive treaded lightweight tire.

im not a Firestone fan but its on my short list because i will not increase wheel/tire weight over OEM combo due to weak cv axles and a big hit to efficiency which is one of the main reasons for the AWD hybrid

that's what I use for my summer tires and works great on stock Maverick 18s. there are good options for 3pms rated all terrain in that size too.

you might be able to trade someone wheels.

if you have to buy new non OEM wheels be really careful with offset and backspacing if you run 245 or wider tires. I actually went with 17s for all terrain tires to use in winter (probably use them 3 seasons after I initially install them later this month...)

If I were to buy a '25, I'd just sell the stock wheel/tire combo and buy a 17" oem from an older year and put on whatever tires I wanted.

After having 18s for a while and 17s, I can safely say I prefer the ride, and the look of a 17" wheel with chunkier tire on a truck.

If I were to lower it, then I'd want a bigger wheel and smaller tire.

18's vs 17's, then.....
maybe the 255/55r18's might be a bit much as far as weight goes & I ought to look into the 17's...
what are your thoughts on a 245/60R17? just slightly larger, but still somewhat negligible as far as size differences: think I'll have any issues with rubbing or other issues? what about brake clearance with the 17's? ultmately (I haven't looked yet) I'm going to assume that the 17's are lighter than the i's & want to keep from throwing too much additional weight on the truck as far as necessary components

The only true on/off road 19" I've seen are Falken Wildpeak A/T Trail. 245/55R19. Just a little taller than the stock tires. Perfect size.

Since the OEM tire size is a 225/55-19 on your Lariat, I'd look at the same size Falken Trails.

Don’t understand putting 18 or 19s on a Truck. 17s are the size most people want. They can stick with 19s for the lobo version but that should be the only version with it.

Generally speaking the after market replacements for the OEM tires (same brand and model) will weigh one or two lbs more than oems due to deeper tread and compound, etc.
