I will be indeed using the tremor ones if mine crap out. What is weird is that so many never have the issue. My buddy has a fx4 and has 70k on it of towing, dunes, and all kinds of other not so nice activities. Zero issues. Then we have these pavement princesses that need them at 30k.
Wonder why?
Thanks for the comparison. And boy your wife is gonna give you crap about wearing your socks in the garage. Lol

Take a look through these threads.
Sometimes you'll have to read a couple posts into a thread before you get to the axle part of the thread.
They may shed light on some problems with the hybrid axles.

Thanks. Darn, if I understand what I’ve read it sounds like the hybrids have had an issue on the front axle when switching from the ICE to the electric motor and the Ecoboost has also had a front axle related problem. Looks like these issues are mostly covered by the warranty so there is that I guess. Still looking forward to becoming a Maverick owner. Cheers.

The peak torque in the Hybrid is almost the same as the EcoBoost.

Just the peak torque of 267 lb-ft in the hybrid can only last a short time. But it's there to get a trailer moving on an upslope.
Oh interesting, I hadn’t realized that. I thought the numbers I saw for the ‘25 (Ecoboost 238 hp and 275 lb-ft vs the hybrids 191 hp and 155 lb-ft) were the peaks. Found these values from a google search. Cheers.

Front axles are having issues in these, towing or not.
The Maverick is a mini "truck" based upon a passenger car unibody. Anyone thinking of towing anything bigger than a small enclosed U-HAUL, or a single-axle small junk/utility trailer, is most definately asking for trouble. An F-150 would be the minimum I'd use to pull any travel trailer (and preferably a 250). This sounds like the tail wagging the dog. Just because our Mavericks look like a truck doesn't make them into what they are not. We own a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD ("WT" Work Truck Edition, with double cab and 8' bed) that we use when towing. The Silverado 2500HD can tow up to 13,000 pounds with a conventional hitch. We've easily towed a 33' dual axle travel trailer. I am amazed at people on here wanting a compact mini-truck to somehow magically become a safe and reliable tow vehicle for travel trailers. It's a passenger car folks, with a functional bed for small items. It is NOT a towing truck for travel trailers. Also, why are travel trailer called "campers" by some on here, and on other forums? Is that an eastern U.S. thing? Out west a camper is a unit that slides into a pickup truck bed. The box with wheels towed by a truck is a travel trailer.

For hybrids they list the ICE and elec separately, since peak sounds better for elec side.
Sustained elec torque is lower, but can be combined with the ICE and provide a decent value - just not shown in official docs.

162 hp@5600 / 155 lb-ft@4000 & 94 kW (126 hp) / 173 lb-ft

The PCM uses a value of peak torque 245 - which is obviously combined and likely sustainable.
Just have to let the engine ultimately feed the traction motor some extra electricity thru the generator motor, in order to supply some extra torque, the difference depending on speed and required gearing from the generator motor.

I have 2023 XLT w/tow package and pulled a loaded 3500# trailer from Illinois to CA via I-80, then back via I-40, 5,500 miles. The onlyproblem I had was when I forgot to put it in "tow mode" I overheated the turbocharger and got an engine error warning. The problem went away when cleared it with an OBD reader and ran in tow. No damage done!

"Campers" are persons who:

Yes, a camper is also someone who sleeps in the great outdoors, but in the sense of enclosed recreational vehicle camping inside of a unit that is either pulled, or carried, by a vehicle, these are the proper definitions:

In all seriousness. I wonder what the tow mode actually does on the EcoBoost to keep the turbo from overheating??

Probably changes shift points to prevent engine lugging, which is damaging under load.

Maverick is an ideal vehicle for towing an 800 lb teardrop camper with an additional 400 lbs of gear. 4k Tow means I can do that confidently (referring to cooling capabilities) in hot high conditions .

I don't have thousands of lbs to tow, so the Silverado/F150 option is unnecessary for my scenarios.

I've towed my 2,300lb teardrop over 12,000 miles with my AWD 4K Maverick with zero issues. I monitor engine and transmission temps and they never get out hand.

Includes towing it to some of the highest paved roads in the country during summer with four people and their crap in the truck.

Maybe it's not the best truck for towing, but it's doing a fine job in my experience.
