Little follow up -
I took the truck in for an airbag recall and asked them to check into this sound. They were able to replicate the sound.
Comment was "inspected rear end fluid and no abnormal debris were found. Also fluid did look a little burned. replaced rear end fluid. Also inspected...
I am not sure if I only just started noticing this or if it's new. Ecoboost with FX4 and 4K Tow.
When I turn the wheel all the way to the right, I hear a low rumble coming from the back end at slow speeds (figure 5mph). Same when it's turned left, but maybe not quite as loud. As I ease up...
When I power down my AWD w/ 4K and FX4, I hear a metal rotational shutter sound. Hard to pinpoint the location, but seems to be in the rear of the truck.
Listen here at the end of the short clip:

I'm also realizing that when I'm braking and coming into lower speeds...
Could anyone see a scenario where you're able to buy the front plastic piece that improves the approach angle and slap that on a non-Tremor version? Or are there engine components that are in a different location in order to make that possible?
I've been towing my small camper with my Maverick w/ 4k Tow option. The camper has brakes and 7-pin connector.
Ever since I started towing the camper, I never felt that when pressing the brake pedal that the camper was doing much in the braking department. When I squeeze the controller lever...
I wonder if the improved front fascia is something that could be added on any Maverick - including 2022 models. Is it as simple as a more trimmed up piece of plastic, or do they move components under the hood to accommodate.
Can you confidently say that the brakes of the trailer are being applied when you push the brakes of the Maverick? When I use the controller to apply brake to my camper, it's obvious the braking is coming from the camper. When I apply brakes via the brake pedal, I can't tell for sure.
I have...
My only issue with wireless Android Auto (and figure the same for Carplay): when connected, you're limited to what you can do on the phone.
For AA, you can't open the Google Maps app. With it wireless, it's more difficult to just quickly disconnect, do what you need, then reconnect.
Here's my post and video about the same sound - happens a few seconds after power down. I feel it comes from underneath the truck more so than the front (so not the shutters). It could be related though.
I also hear the sound when de-accelerating from 15mph to 10mph. Generally around 13mph...
Yeah, same here in the other weird noises. Rattles like there's a squirrel in the electrical system.
Happy I'm not the only one with the "door closing" sound. As you're braking, do you hear it as you slow from 15 and 10 mph? Probably need to be on a quiet road, but am fairly sure it's the same...
A few weeks ago, I posted about a sound I can hear inside the cab. I matched it up to when the truck is decelerating into 3rd gear (around 12-14mph). I figured it was transmission related.
I'm realizing I think I hear the same sound after shutting down the truck. A rotational sound, like a vent...
On paper, I like the dial shifter. It clears up a lot of space to get crap in the console.
In practice, I don't. There's no tactile feedback between the drive modes. It should come to a stop when rotating to D and there should be more travel between N and R to help understand what you're...
I've got an AWD Maverick.
I'm curious if everyone / anyone hears this rotational sound as you're braking, at or around 12-15 mph.
It reminds me of the sound a deadbolt lock makes when locking.
Using an OBD Bluetooth dongle, it seems to match up with the time the truck downshifts into 3rd...
I'm not trying to argue with you here, but it only says that performance difference will be most noticable when towing or high heat. I can't see anywhere that it says premium gas is required when towing.
Either way, I'll be switching to premium on the next trip.
I was using 87 octane on the trip. I'll be towing again later this week and will go with higher grade to see how that effects the sound.
Ordered an OBD Bluetooth dongle last night and will have it for the upcoming trip and be able to report back.
I just wrapped up a road trip where I towed a small ~2,200 lb camper about 1,500 miles. I do have the 4k Tow Package. Mileage on the truck was over 1,000 as recommended in the manual.
The experience was really good. The camper has electric brakes, so that helped a lot. I have minimal towing...
Thanks, y'all. I'm not too worried about the scuff. It's going to happen. Super happy it was just on the plastic.
I do have blind spot monitoring. I'll test that out this evening just to make sure it's in good shape.
I crawled under and looked at the bracket behind the plastic. It's really...
