Or...you know....it actually happening to me on multiple vehicles. From multiple different car washes over the years.

Not all of us just parrot what we have read on the internet.
Yeah sure bro. What happened to you? Did your antennae break on multiple vehicles causing roof damage or was there irreparable damage to your clear coat and paint?

Maybe he read the thread where they backed out of garage and the antenna/sharkfin hung the disconnect rope which jerked the sharkfin totally out of roof?

Take the antenna off for wash. Mav doesn’t get carwash, but wifeys fusion does. Same antenna, un screws in 10 seconds.
Staying out of the good/bad carwash argument. Just saying if you do take it off and don’t worry🛻

I use car wash weekly, no damage or swirl marks. Do have to hand dry or water spots are terrible and not easy to remove.

If it's a work truck and you don't care about scratches, which definitely will happen with a touch-type car wash, go ahead with your car wash plan.

The best way is to hand wash with a sponge that you rolled around in some dirt.

Trust me these internet nerds don't know shit.

The grit on the sponge will help get the paint nice and clean.

I'm going to join our local automatic car wash club with rolling brushes. I saw on here or another forum that someone with the stock antenna got roof damage over 1k from a automatic car wash.. I replaced my antenna with the 2 inch stubby. Anybody have any issues with the stubby? Thanks!
Have to add I live in upstate NY so can't hand wash in the winter and I need a automatic car wash to wash off salt.
I only go to touchless car washes.

My OEM antenna was bent in a carwash. So, I replaced it with a 2" antenna. Less than 20 miles from home I would lose my two of my favorite stations. I switched to a 4" antenna which the carwash stripped the phony carbon fiber off. I now have a very flexible 6 3/4" antenna with adequate reception.

Don't know what kind of car washes you Yankees have. But I am sure due to the freezing weather they are different from what we have in Texas. For the last 10 years I wash my cars my cars 3 to 5 times a week and they all look better than when I picked them up at the dealership.

Been washing my cars in tunnel washes forever, no swirl marks, no worn clear coat, no antenna issues, no damage of any kind. My cars look brand new.

I have been getting mine washed at a mechanical conveyer wash unlimited flat fee system since new (top Tier Wash) and have had no verifiable damage and my Area 51 paint looks great. I live in the desert southwest and our water is very hard so washing at home does more damage than the R.O. filtered water at the car wash. Everybody's experience is likely different.
