Hello club members I’m looking for a tune that doesn’t leave a footprint and is plug and play in the processor wiring. I found one from Afe I’m looking for options any help would be greatly appreciated thanks VP

I would consider it more of an interceptor than a piggyback since it's modifying sensor values the ECU sees, but yes, it does not reflash the ECU and supposedly cannot be detected via telemetry or the ECU itself. You are looking for a piggyback tune.
Burgermotorsports jb4 is an example. It does not rewrite anything. From what I read is that it is not completely untraceable. Something about the vehicle opperating outside of normal parameters but it does not reflash anything.
the biggest value to me in a JB4 is twofold:Yep nothing is gonna be undetectable. Plus it’s simply a worse way of doing more power.
Just simply get a good tuner and don’t worry about it.
I’ve got Livernois on all my ecoboost and have never had a single issue. Several over 200k miles and one went over 400 k before being totaled.
They have better software than Cobb as far as tuning so that’s why I decided to go with them.
I would not even waste my money on a piggy back.
They don’t work as well and they can clearly be seen just like a tune if something does happen.
That’s correct but doesn’t make what I said not true. I can say Livernois had a maverick tune n market faster than the jb4 was done. Heck I’ve had them do a brand new platform in a day or two. So it really depends.the biggest value to me in a JB4 is twofold:
1) they usually get to market faster than a reflash, because no one has to 'crack' the ECU. (does anyone actually know what this consists of? is someone literally hacking it, like when the FBI tries to brute force open a suspect's phone?) but case in point, no one has cracked the '23 - up F150 ecoboost ecu, so tuners are either limited to piggybacks, or Livernois will sell you a '22 ECU to install in your 23-24 F150 so that they can reflash it.
2) drive mode integration on supported vehicles can make a lot of sense. if you have an 87 octane map for highway use, and you want it automatically selected when you pick eco mode, that's great. but then it's not so obvious when to load your E30/E50/E85 map vs 93 E10, etc because sport mode could be great with any fuel map, and maybe you do drive E85 in normal drive mode.
there are some platforms like BMW and Audi where's it's pretty common to use a JB4 *and* a reflash tune at the same time. I think that's playing with fire, personally.![]()
not sure about that. they can infer past tuning by reflash count, yes, but I would not at all be surprised if telemetry and FRDS can both see and flag non-stock ECU values. So the only way they know is by key count.
You may be right but I did state that I would think it “may” be less. I’m not 100 percent sure. I just know first thing they do is look at key count usually. If they suspect it been tuned. But that’s usually because people will reflash and take it right in. This showing no check engine codes .not sure about that. they can infer past tuning by reflash count, yes, but I would not at all be surprised if telemetry and FRDS can both see and flag non-stock ECU values.
it is harder to find a person like that, because I would think that if they fear warranty issues or mistreatment by their dealer, they're probably going to install a JB4 and not post about it here, on facebook, etc.None I’m looking for a little xtra kick in performance . But most of all I’m looking for a MTC member that’s using a plug n play system and how it’s working and are they happy with the product
