Ford Performance Tune for Maverick 2.0 EcoBoost?

I'm not a Focus ST guy, but this was not at all hard to find.

Plus they did it for the rs also but pulled it because the head gasket recall. They have one for the explorer st I believe also. I’ll reach out to some ford performance guys I know and see if they have or can spill any info on if it may be coming.

Spend $30 on a Forscan tool, turn on Sport Mode and enjoy. I cant believe this mode was left off the Maverick. There is an instant change in acceleration....and fuel economy. Does sport mode actually make it quicker? Not sure, but maybe someone with a Dragy can test.

The Maverick has appeared under "calibrations" on the FP site. It's blank underneath but I hope for the best.

That's pretty interesting. All the Ford Performance tunes are covered under factory warranty as long as it's installed by an authorized dealer (a tuner can be a FP dealer and not a Ford *car dealership*) and only off-the-shelf tunes are used.

This makes it a lot more interesting to anyone worried about warranty.

FWIW it doesn't even need to be an authorized dealer. They state in the warranty info that calibrations and performance packs can be installed by a dealer, Shelby, or an ASE certified tech. So anyone with certs can install and retain the warranty provided. Also, the warranty is only good for the remainder of the 3/36 basic warranty, which many folks may be out of already. It will not negatively affect any remaining powertrain coverage however, which is way more important IMO.

Finally got a real update, sounds like they are focusing on the 300T performance package for the 25+.

22-24 guys are likely going to have to go “3rd party” if wanting a tune for those who have been holding out for FP.

The vast majority of 2.0L EcoBoost Mavericks use the 8F35 8-speed automatic transmission.

The 8F35 is technically rated by Ford for a maximum input torque of 350 Nm (~258 lb-ft)

If you notice that the stock Maverick 2.0L EcoBoost produces 277 lb-ft, you’ll see it’s technically "over-torquing" its own rating from the factory. Ford manages this through software (torque management) to protect the clutches during shifts.

Danger Zone: 330+ HP / 380+ lb-ft. At this level, the 8F35 struggles. The clutches tend to slip, and the torque converter can overheat.

that's not the same thing. you might know this, but someone else reading this thread may not.

the OP is talking about the Ford factory performance calibration which basically gives you a procal device and they use it to reflash and send you on your way. here's the one for the Ranger that the OP mentioned.

it's covered under the factory warranty. that's the key difference.

Its not covered by factory warranty, it goes to ford racing warranty similar to Roush warranty
Good luck getting anything covered as I have dealt with them both
99% of the time they say the failure was caused by fuel quality

Finally got a real update, sounds like they are focusing on the 300T performance package for the 25+.

I figured the 300T items would be out by spring of this year. Wonder if they're running into some issues like parts availabilty, or reliability concerns.
