This is concerning, since I ordered a tune from them on Saturday.
Would t concern me a bit.
I was at that shop a few weeks ago and they had all kinds of phones going. Walking people through the process.
I had zero issues. Does sometimes take a few days for a tune file to be set over. It’s sometimes hard to have patience when doing this. But keep in mind they are not 24hrs a day service.

someone made a similar complaint last week here on MTC but that is the only time I've heard of such an issue. apparently you can't load a map until they activate the device and pair it to your truck.

I just looked their page for the first time in probably a year and it looks like they don't charge separately for the transmission tune and launch control anymore. I would definitely question whether 2024 is supported yet.
This is correct. They send you the mycal. Then you have to send them vin and strategy code off your truck. Then they write the files and send back over. They have never changed for transmission tunes. Launch control they did but not sure if they do now.
As for the 24 MY they 100 percent support it. Mine is a 24 and has been done for weeks. The only thing I noticed different was the load time when getting my truck info to lms. Pulling the data from my truck seemed like it was much longer than in the past. So maybe that same delay happens when writing and getting files back. After that I can swap times in about the same time I fill it with gas.

This is the first time I've ever heard anything negative regarding Livernois, so I'm not going to worry about it unless there's a delay. I sent off my file and information, so I'll give them a few days to send the tune.

Hello.

I've been wanting to discuss this topic since I bought my Maverick so now is a fitting time for a freshman post.

Perhaps two months ago I bought the calibrator/tune from Livernois. I went through the process of collecting the stock info and uploading it and then a few days later receiving my tunes. Now I haven't installed it yet as I am desperately holding out until I have the vehicle in for its first inspection this fall.

Each turbo charged engine in which I added a tune made a noticeable difference. Water to bourbon. There was no way of hiding it! The Subaru though, it wasn't great but the difference was obvious. I did add tunes to a few n/a vehicles and one was a superchip (if any of you remember) back in '99 and another was a performance pcm when Dodge offered ones for the magnum engines.

Seeing what Livernois does with ecoboosts makes me filled with anticipation, but I'd be concerned if the change was not obvious. Lets hope the problem gets rectified.

what fuel are you using? Octane and brand.

are you monitoring kom, knock and timing?

you were at least 170F on coolant temp during both runs?

If he’s seeing zero difference I’m sure it’s something easy and obvious, but not to us as we don’t have any further details.
I’m like you I’ve never not noticed a huge difference in the performance of the tune. But I’ve also only done ecoboost and the predator from ford.
I chose Livernois because my uncle who was VP of Dana corp and at one time head engineer sent me to them.
They have an incredible track record and after the built my 15 work truck and it lasted well over 400k until it was totaled. I’ve found it hard not to trust them with all mine. Every one I’ve had has gotten well over what I expected.

I wonder if he can OAR / KOM value in either his tuning device or Forscan. That would get to the answer you're looking for faster, I think.

Truck was warmed up both times, only use 93 octane top tier fuel. I don’t know how to data log with this unit.

When you boot up the controller. The top one will be performance tunes. The one you select to find the tune file you want. On that menu page look down it will say data log. Then follow prompts. It will record that info so you can send it to lms. I’ve never needed that but it will help with figuring out what’s up.
Wish I had mine with me I’d walk you through the process.

I’m not sure about the unit you have but you should be able to get real time data from it through gauges settings and data log as well. Look to see if it’s knocking (you can monitor individual cylinders) and pulling timing.
The reason I asked the brand of fuel is that even if it’s top tier it may not be ideal for the 2L ecoboost. I’m not going to mention specific brands but some tuners may discourage certain fuels even if they are top tier.

Not exactly. 91 can give a KOM of 1 as will 93. And some 93s will knock more than others.

I’d also download the software and plug in the device to your laptop and make sure it’s up to date. I think someone mentioned firmware in another post, same thing. Also do some research on their site about data logs, it’s essential.

Has anyone from livernois or FM got back to you? Do you get any revisions on this tune or is it ots?

yeah, because of additives and contaminants, but if his KOM is lower than +1, that's a sign that he needs better fuel.

I have to go home one of these evenings and just plug the handheld in my laptop. Make sure everythingā€˜s good to go first and then plug it into my truck and see if I can get some real time gauge type settings on the screen so I can watch my knock. I’m not super good with all that stuff I can try and watch what it does and post my results.
