I had an issue 1-2 months ago. Before I got the software update. Something in my hybrid made a loud bang and grind sound. Loud enough that people in the parking lot turned around and looked. Since then, my electric to gas transition is no longer smooth. It turns over a bit hard and its a noticeable transition. Before this event, tge transition was smooth. Barely and sometimes not noticeable at all. My question for other hybrid drivers, are you noticing the transition from electric to gas? I could be a little over concern due to the vent I encountered.
99.9% of the time it is not noticeable.

If you sometimes do / sometimes don't it may just be your sensitivity.

If it is very apparent, like all persons in the cab can't miss it, you potentially have an issue.

Its at the dealer today. They prob wont be able to identify the issue. Prob just tell me its normal but I know it isnt based on all the feedback here. And for the fact it was smooth up till the bang and grind event my car did before the software update.

Now at 15k miles, my electric to ICE transition has become a tad more "jiggly" at low speed launches, I assume to the motor mounts wearing in--I haven't checked for pending mount failure.

I recall someone posting a while back that a dealer replaced their hybrid motor mounts as they were experiencing mild rumble strip vibration as they were slowing down under heavier regen braking, or when the ICE was transitioning to electric. One was found torn?

I am driving a 2022 Hybrid and the transition from electric to gas operation is very smooth. I have almost 25,000 miles on the truck and this has never been a problem. In fact my Maverick experience has been trouble free 100%

19k on mine, barely/don't even notice when it swaps from electric to gas. If I'm watching for the swap I'll notice that subtle shudder from the engine, but most of the time I'll glance at the dash and it'll be like "Oh I'm doing 60mph on electric. Sweet."

What I do notice is that the regen braking system is really heavy at low speeds - like right at the very end of coming to a stop the transmission drops into a ridiculously low gear and that makes for a nice lurching halt when you were aiming for a buttery smooth finish.

It would stand to reason you should have had Ford look at it 1-2 months ago. Something broke if you heard a loud bang....

FordTechMakuloco had a video on other recent Ford hybrid transmission change - showed the damaged clutch plate that caused exactly what you describe.

He swapped whole tranny though due to those hard impacts causing some damage in it.
I was wrong.
Different video.
Now the tranny had way worse issues, but comments on the clutch plate and what happened to it could still apply.
That's where this link goes to, that part.

6800 miles, MY24 XLT Hybrid - just experienced something this weekend where transition b/w EM & ICE above 62mph gives me a whine noise - similar to an actual person whining. really weird - only happens if i transition above 62mph and not under.

no jolt, just that noise.
