I had an issue 1-2 months ago. Before I got the software update. Something in my hybrid made a loud bang and grind sound. Loud enough that people in the parking lot turned around and looked. Since then, my electric to gas transition is no longer smooth. It turns over a bit hard and its a noticeable transition. Before this event, tge transition was smooth. Barely and sometimes not noticeable at all. My question for other hybrid drivers, are you noticing the transition from electric to gas? I could be a little over concern due to the vent I encountered.

I would take it in and have it checked out. My transition is barely noticeable.

How many miles you have? I have about 17,000.

I would say I got a problem then. The loud bang and grinding situation must have damaged my car. Especially considering i only have 17,000 miles and you can def feel the transition.

Same here barely noticable.

When it's over 100° here and my AC First kicks on I think it's louder than the engine is. As the cabin cools down, the AC compressor quiets down.

Mine feels like a transmission that is going out. Does not make a bang, but makes a definite and noticeable transition. I was pretty sure before it was not noticible. So much so I was trying to pay attention to it transition bc i was very impressed with how smooth it was. Now feels like a transmission going out when it transitions.

I remember last February no a/c on. My wife was with me. We getting ready to turn onto the highway when the engine started. She definitely noticed it and commented that's the engine I guessing.
To me it is a little bit more noticeable than it was on my Chevy Volt. But then, I could travel a lot further 50 miles on battery without the engine starting.
Good luck,

I've got 7k on mine, I don't notice hardly anything at all on the transition. Hope you get yours figured out.

I only notice it when I first start. It usually is in electric mode. While driving, I can't really tell except when the instrument panel tells me.

Smooth as butter. Many passengers ask if it's an EV because they can't tell if it's running or not. 25K miles.

Same. The A/C is louder than the engine unless I'm really on the gas. And the transition is typically extremely smooth,
