Mine feels like a transmission that is going out. Does not make a bang, but makes a definite and noticeable transition. I was pretty sure before it was not noticible. So much so I was trying to pay attention to it transition bc i was very impressed with how smooth it was. Now feels like a transmission going out when it transitions.
Remember you don’t have an actual transmission. The eCVT is a planetary gear set and quite robust, but not above failure.

I dont think you understood the context in which the reference was used. I said it feels like. Describing the harsh transitioning from electric to gas. It feels like a transmission going bad.

I had an issue 1-2 months ago. Before I got the software update. Something in my hybrid made a loud bang and grind sound. Loud enough that people in the parking lot turned around and looked. Since then, my electric to gas transition is no longer smooth. It turns over a bit hard and its a noticeable transition. Before this event, tge transition was smooth. Barely and sometimes not noticeable at all. My question for other hybrid drivers, are you noticing the transition from electric to gas? I could be a little over concern due to the vent I encountered.
I recall some hybrids having the damper between the engine and transmission having problems similar to what you describe.

Never can tell when it changes. 17K miles. Your situation is not normal and something is wrong.

Make an appointment to get it looked at. You definitely have an issue there.

37k miles on my hybrid, if I have the sound playing loud enough I actually can't tell. The sound of the engine is the only clue, I can't feel a frigging thing when it transitions.

I don't feel a thing. Also used to it as I had 2 Fusion Energi plug-in hybrid's before this truck.

Me: Early build 2024 hybrid w/4,500 miles - can't feel when ICE kicks in or out. In fact I have to look at the display to see "electric driving" on the screen to know which mode it is using.

Can hear a slight exhaust growl, more noticeable when cold and [obviously] at low speeds when the ICE starts running.

FordTechMakuloco had a video on other recent Ford hybrid transmission change - showed the damaged clutch plate that caused exactly what you describe.

He swapped whole tranny though due to those hard impacts causing some damage in it.

I have no noticeable noise or lunging . Then I only have 1700 miles on mine.

Very smooth really unnoticeable. Under the right and quiet conditions you can hear the motor start.
