Assuming a lowered Lobo will be avail with 4K?
it won't, but the DCTs he mentioned cannot tow anywhere 2k.

I concede it's not impossible, and I like sequential DCTs. The 8F has a hell of a lot more than 2 clutches and it can lock the torque converter in 4th gear (which is like 25 mph). I think there's a lot less performance advantage of a DCT compared the 8F, versus the automatic transmissions we had 20 years ago.

My biggest doubt is cost. I really don't see that happening compared to a 8F that just skips 2nd.

Oh, apparently I misinterpreted your post.
A fellow Maverick owner told me the hybrid only came in awd, when I read the 2025 info I noticed awd is an option. I should have read the post first. 🤷‍♂️ Sorry for the confusion...

Hell there were automatics 30 years back that would bark the tires when shifting. The 8F is the laziest auto I've ever owned 🤣 been thinking about a 5Star tune.

Cheers and hats off to the admins of this site. Ford had everything ready to reveal, and all the facts and figures can be found right here (including video links). Well done! 😎👍🫡

I really hope that by the time I wear my '23 out manufacturers have gotten over this trend of moving climate and stereo controls to the touch screen. One of the things I loved about the Maverick in the first place was actual buttons for the important controls

That's probably the biggest downgrade in my mind. But unfortunately, I don't see that trend reversing. It's a cost-cutting measure most of the time.

Im interested to know what they did to the hybrid drivetrain for the AWD 4K. Surely they didnt just leave it the same... When the battery gets drained on long uphill climbs and you are down to just a normally aspirated 4 cyl its going to be begging for mercy with a full load. Hopefully they beefed up the battery or something as Im serious considering the hybrid 4k AWD.
I wonder about this also. Bigger battery won't help much. If the hill is long enough, the battery will be depleted and not help.

There is not much you can do with 162 HP ICE trying to pull 4K. Maybe they will not change anything but the 7 pin trailer connector and count on not many people using/pushing the 4K lbs. Ford gets to pocket the extra cost of the 4K Hybrid package then uses it on the extra waranty claims.

My Mav shifts very well with my tunes (5Star). My buddy was amazed at how hard it shifted under full throttle, compared to his stock Mav. If you are on the verge of ordering a tune, I'd say go for it! not only will it shift better, but it'll feel like a whole new truck!

Did they offer any pricing or details on what all is included in the Lobo package?

Don't forget 25+ years ago that trucks with wheezy 6-cylinders and 8-cylinders barely broke 200 hp and still were rated for 3-tons+ towing. And with the eCVT + electric motor the ICE can run pretty much anywhere in its power band it needs to and convert it into flat electric torque.

I bet they announce all of that tomorrow.

You can see some of the Lobo stuff if you look at the info that has been linked.

But they had torque....

My overall impressions and questions. 3k too much across the board. A slightly larger screen and revised front grill and supposedly revised CVT is not worth the significant price jump. Something else was different on the XLT interior compared to last year's model (cant exactly put my finger on it). No hvac controls.. All in the screen? I am guessing there will be an upcharge for the Van Halen meets Hulk smash Eruption Green especially as a 1 year only model. I wonder if Cruise is included as standard on all trims, surprised 360 is not. The AWD and 4k towing on the Hybrid is a nice addition but I would question its ability to tow that much. And their HP figures for the 2.0L seemed lower. Am I wrong? Honestly, I'd rather go with the Nissan Frontier at this price point personally despite the significant gas mileage decrease compared to the Hybrid powertrain. On the highway may not be much difrerent. Like what I found with the Ridgeline (15 city, 27 highway) which puts it closer to the Ecoboost. Lariat trim AWD is approaching Ridgeline base pricing. I wonder if the 13" Sync 4 system can be shoehorned into the previous years? And if the guage cluster has upgrades. It appeared to look different. Not sure if I like the new grill (Tremor looks sweet though). Not sure on the Lariat. Will need to see in person. Ill be visiting local dealer to put in a build for shits and giggles in case it takes 2 years to build one like my '23 model. Likely not, but worst case ill get good info for a future purchase. I am thinking hold my wad for the proposed 2026 or 27 Plug-In Hybrid Mav or Ranger. Anxiously waiting to see the Lobo.
