Any catch can will work just fine, it just depends on what you want for fitment. The ones made for the Maverick(or escape or BS) "might" have different fittings to be a direct bolt on.
Personally, I just splice into the lines using brass fittings, but I'm all function, very little form.
I will for sure look into it! It's going to be hard to do a lot to the truckette in the next few months, as I'm coaching 2 baseball teams and assisting a 3rd, lol. That and I'm flipping a 2019 Escape where I'm rebuilding the engine, but I love to get into the weeds on side stuff, lol.
Thanks...
Well, my 98% sure turned into 0%!!!! Hahaha. I didn't want to take the brake line off and have to bleed it, so I made a very bad assumption!
The factory line uses 10mmx1.5 thread, with an inverted flare. So back to the drawing board. I'll try to find a -3AN to female inverted 10x1.5, that...
Small update: The 3AN lines and the last two fittings should be in today! I am getting excited to see this play out!
I do have my reservations that this will improve the 60-0 distance, but I am in uncharted territory, as this is the first brake upgrade I have ever done!
Here is a quick...
Well, I've changed the setup I was planning to do! I have ordered fittings and and lines that should be in late this week. I decided to just do 3AN stainess lines, with adapters on each end.
The adapters needed are 10x1.0mm bubble flare to 3AN, and 3AN to female inverted flare 10x1.0mm. I'm...
Ok, I got the calipers back, all milled down. I test fit the driver's side, which needed more material taken off. And it's about as perfect as I could hope for, perfectly centered on the rotor!
It also clears the 17x7 Bronco Sport wheels by about .060"! That may not seem like much, but an inch...
So I was planning to do the milling myself, but a buddy who is a machinist apprentice at the same place I work, offered to do it on the training NC machines! Can't pass that up! Lol. Just a teaser picture, and he works on the driver's side. You'll notice the mill I had him use has a large radius...
I would assume it's going to favor the back a little more after the brembos are installed, as the proportioning valve was based off of less volume needed to go to the front. But by how much, I don't know.
I'm not really concerned about it, but yeah I do expect it to change slightly. It's all...
I won't upgrade the tires at the same time as the brakes, as that wouldn't allow an apples to apples comparison for how good the brakes are compared to stock. Most people understand the huge benefit of quality tires, but that has no bearing on what I'm doing here. If I ever want to track my Mav...
Ok, I did the test fitting on the other side. It was actually off farther than the first side! The passenger side will need milled down .070" to be on center of the factory rotor, and the driver's side will need .115" milled down. I will probably only do like .090" as I don't want to remove too...
So, pricing on these was just under $400 shipped from rock auto. I will post a more definitive post when I can get then done and mounted. It looks like even the factory line will work, unless the threads are different for some reason. That I am unsure of.
I bought pads, hardware kit, and...
Hey guys, I'm back with more cheap shenanigans! Someone online, named Eric Bernard, found out the volvo s60r/v70r front 4 piston calipers bolt right onto our Mav's! I ordered a set, and have some work to do on them, but they do in fact bolt up! As they sit, they just BARELY touch my Bronco Sport...
I changed the fluids at 38k miles I believe? I probably should change them every 20k miles, if I'm going to be running the truck hard.
Yes I was running the steelies/procontacts at the track. Next time I go it'll be on the bronco sport wheels, with the procontacts, unless I get new tires by...
I have been running 5Star since a week after getting my Mav. They have worked with me to get the Mav as polished as I needed it. Once you order, they'll send you your tuner, and do some back and forth to get some numbers from the truck, then they will get you your base tunes.
I would order as...
Hello Again! 2 months have passed, and I have done nothing with my Mav! However, I keep saying I would do a breakdown on the costs of what I have spent on my build, so today I did just that.
Price Breakdown:
Intercooler and Couplers: $380
Intake: $35
Colder Plugs: $20
Downpipe: $25 for the...
Sorry, haven't been online much recently. I don't think you can go wrong with a piggyback. The main reason people go this route is to make it completely untraceable when repairs are needed. No, they won't give you the full tuning potential of a dedicated tune, but from what I hear they work...
The 2.0 ecoboost will have zero issues when given a standard tune from any of the reputable tuners.
I tuned at 1k miles, and have 47k miles on my Maverick, and I guarantee I've put my truck through more than any other individual. Go with whoever you feel gives you the most for your buck. For...
