What to expect with the 2026 Maverick [unconfirmed pricing / specs]

Believe it or not, I've seen those cranks on vehicles that are still on the road and only a decade old if not less.

I know there are new vehicles with manual windows. They were designed for them and the internal mounting points built in. I find the video hard to believe that Ford would redesign the rear doors adding those points to all doors, sourcing a supplier for the cranks (not off the shelf for a Maverick), and incorporate it into the BOMs for production. The return on investment would never happen. Maybe the next restyle of the Maverick they might do it since they would have a 5 year run likely. But not mid-refresh, just too short of time to make it profitable. Part contracts and prototyping usually are 3 to 5 years before production.

Last new vehicles using crank windows in the US was the Wrangler and Gladiator. Both phased out for 2025. Slate is supposed to bring them back for 2027. There will be no US market vehicles with manual crank windows for 2026.
