Any Hybrid owners regret not opting for AWD/Ecoboost

Just wondering if any of you hybrid owners wish you had opted for AWD with the Ecoboost ? Imagine this may be influenced on weather severity in your area. Heard mixed reviews from the owners in my area in Michigan.

Don't regret getting a hybrid for a second. Okay, maybe if I was taking bigger loads in a utility trailer I would have got an EB, but if I was doing that I would have just got a body on frame truck so I could use a dump trailer.

If I was still in Canada I probably would have felt I needed AWD. Here in IL, no.
What I needed was an economical commuter vehicle that could do double duty as a truck. I could not be happier with the hybrid.

Not at all. When Maverick was announced all I considered was EB, AWD, 4K tow. Wait was looong, got a Bronco Sport. Recently had an opportunity to get a 24 Lariat Hybrid walk away/abandoned at x-plan so jumped on it. 1500 miles so far & really like it. I do not need AWD. Most of my use is city. Hybrid is amazing.

I'm in Michigan and with 2 winter seasons under my belt I have absolutely zero regrets.

I have a full set of mounted snows and winters in southern Ontario are not what they used to be. I installed the snowblower on my tractor this winter and never used it. Only used a couple of jugs of antifreeze for the windshield for the whole season. Buffalo is south of me - they still get whacked by Lake Erie snow from time to time.

Nope, just drove 700 miles with speeds in the 80s and majority in the 70s. Sunny weather. 36mpg
Headwind coming home over our pass. Headed to Lewiston Idaho Thursday and coming home Friday. So nice not breaking the bank to fill up. Fill up, drive all over. Fill up and head home. 90$ in fuel.

Before I bought my 2024 hybrid I took the ecoboost out for an extended test drive. When I came back it was the hybrid for us. The hybrid was just a quieter and smoother powertrain and the amazing mpg sealed the deal. Yes the ecoboost is slightly quicker and has AWD but I purchased a good set of snow tires and it was only a slightly quicker than the hybrid. My wife drove a Camry for the last 9 years and never got stuck because of the good snow tires so not concerned about the Maverick.

Honestly, I think what you will find is people buy Mavericks for different reasons, I'm sure most people who bought the hybrid are happy with it because MPG is most important for them. People who buy the EB and or AWD and the Tremor as looking for something different whether it be towing, AWD or performance and handling. I doubt you will find little regret on either side, just a matter of priorities, there really is no right answer.

No the hybrid was the entire reason for the purchase; otherwise I would have kept my 21 Mazda CX-5.

I drove open diff rwd service trucks aka 1 wheel wonders in MN WI MI AND the Dakotas for many years never once got one stuck kept them on the street. But your FWD would never get down half the logging roads around me with no snow because if you get one front wheel of that hybrid in the air your done. AWD is not about plowed roads it about that 300 yard driveway in the spring or getting to work when you have to be there before the plows come out or you have to drive the plow. My Brother in-law likes to point out he never needs his 4x4 to get home but getting to work when you drive the state plow it is not an option some days.

Edit to add I am not saying the Hybrid is Bad. I was just saying why I did not get one I think most like me did some research, than skipped the hybrid even though that was what got us to look at the maverick to start with. Heck it replaced a 2019 Mirage that got 40 mpg towed a landscape trailer with about 1000LB now and than got her to and from work every day from winter of 2018 to spring 2024 when it was totaled. But we still needed to keep a 4X4 to get in to my dads cabin low maintenance logging road and a 300 yard "driveway" the chance to get high sided and stuck where the wreckers won't go is to real.
