Nope. While I kinda sometimes wish I could pull 4K, having that capability would only make me do something dumb, like buy another boat. I’ve never needed AWD and I absolutely love the fuel economy. And it’s plenty fast.

I like the hybrid and the mileage. On it's worst day it gets twice the mileage my 2012 F150 did and on it's best day it gets 3-4 times the mileage.
I don't have a towing requirement that is outside it's capability and it gets around well in the winter with the Cross Climate 2 Michelins.
I would have bought a PHEV (and still would), but I am not sorry I got the hybrid.

2.5 years in, have set of winter tires on my hybrid, loving every minute of it...I specifically got BECAUSE of the hybrid, had a 1999 Ranger 4x4 and loved the truck but got rid of because of fuel mpg...

No. During the summer I see no difference btw the two drivetrains. The gas mileage difference is ridiculously large though. The EB gets around 10L/100km (U.S. 28mpg) combined mileage, while the hybrid gets about 5L/100km (U.S. 56mpg). Yesterday on a 300km round trip and driving like a granny I managed 3.7L/100km (U.S. 62mpg) in half stop-and-go heavy highway traffic. I live in Canada, and with climate change making less snow and lots more icy roads, I need good traction. Ice/snow tires make far more difference than AWD will. I have never been stuck. Also the hybrid drivetrain is possibly the smoothest available on a truck and possibly the smoothest on a car as well. That one-speed tranny is a technological leap that has been field tested for 20+ years now. The EB is possibly overpowered, and is certainly one of the quickest stock trucks on the road. I have no use for an offroad vehicle climbing rocks and 4ft snowdrifts or fording rivers or other stupid shit, so FWD is fine. People post stupid ideas that getting a wheel in the air gets you stuck, or that you need a jacked-up 4WD with diff locks and offroad-only tires, etc just to drive in snow. These people clearly don't drive on actual roads, and have clearly never driven a FWD in snow before. I notice the lower available torque on long 7% uphill roads where I have to get up into 30% power, but otherwise the hybrid meets my expectations nicely. If I lost the Mav, I'd definitely get another one. With the smarter bed design, larger interior than midsize, great drivetrain and good looks, its easily the best truck out there of any size today. The huge number of software recalls are a pain though, and maybe that will finally be resolved 4 years after it should have been fixed.

Nope. Prefer the fuel mileage.

It would be nice for 4k towing as 2k is basically a small utility trailer, but the number of times I need to tow is like once a year, which I can work around

So of course more drive wheels means better traction. For a long long long time, cars were all RWD, and people somehow survived.

Good snow tires help a TON in northern climates when the white stuff is out.

Not in the least. Once I figured out that getting rid of the Motorcraft battery and replacing with a better alternative would solve all my issues, it has been clear sailing ever since, with outstanding gas mileage.

In answer to OP's original question - no. Absolutely no more ICE vehicles again for me.

No more torque converter, what gear should I be in, clunk-o-matic transmissions, either.

Just wondering if any of you hybrid owners wish you had opted for AWD with the Ecoboost ? Imagine this may be influenced on weather severity in your area. Heard mixed reviews from the owners in my area in Michigan.
Thanks
Very happy with my hybrid after 13 months in Texas.

I'm in S. Ontario. Wasn't a bad winter snow wise but on the few days where the roads were really icy my Hybrid was just fine in Slippery mode. Back end didn't fishtail at all as I was partly expecting. 2,000lb tow capacity is still good enough for a small, well equipped travel trailer if I want one down the road. I'm loving the gas mileage on the hybrid though! Lol

No. When I lived in central Wisconsin many years ago, I drove a compact car with front wheel drive and had no problems getting to where I needed to be. Winters in Central Pennsylvania are not as severe so even less need for AWD. Enjoying both the MPG and quiet drive of my hybrid

I drove open diff rwd service trucks aka 1 wheel wonders in MN WI MI AND the Dakotas for many years never once got one stuck kept them on the street. But your FWD would never get down half the logging roads around me with no snow because if you get one front wheel of that hybrid in the air your done. AWD is not about plowed roads it about that 300 yard driveway in the spring or getting to work when you have to be there before the plows come out or you have to drive the plow. My Brother in-law likes to point out he never needs his 4x4 to get home but getting to work when you drive the state plow it is not an option some days.

Edit to add I am not saying the Hybrid is Bad. I was just saying why I did not get one I think most like me did some research, than skipped the hybrid even though that was what got us to look at the maverick to start with. Heck it replaced a 2019 Mirage that got 40 mpg towed a landscape trailer with about 1000LB now and than got her to and from work every day from winter of 2018 to spring 2024 when it was totaled. But we still needed to keep a 4X4 to get in to my dads cabin low maintenance logging road and a 300 yard "driveway" the chance to get high sided and stuck where the wreckers won't go is to real.
My wife never took our Camry down a logging road so it's something the Maverick will ever do. We live in a rural part of Canada with a ton of snow every winter and never had an issue with a FWD with a good set of snow tires. I would not consider a Maverick ecoboost AWD as a good choice for our logging roads. It would be dragging its underside on our bedrock and borders. I have a Tundra OR 4X4 and a side by side for the logging roads.
