Yup! I really would like one too! The fact that you’re reading this means you probably do also and it’s a complete miss that they haven’t come come out with us as a sport option yet. I do realize they have to monetize the cost of making it work and guessing how many units they will sell but if it’s any indication I think that it would be a hit to offer this. The eight speed automatic transmission saps the life out of this fantastic turbo motor where the manual trans would allow us to have way more engagement and fun.

Your truck is FWD no? Do you consider the AWD equally parasitic (sapping power)?

The modifciations and parts needed for this conversion are well documented here on MTC.
He bought an inexpensive XL EB FWD, so no doubt he's left room in the budget to build it.

Nevermind... I see he bought it to flip back in 2022.

Sadly-the numbers wouldn't be profitable for Ford. I have a 2014 Fusion with the Ecoboost 1.6 and 6 speed manual. According to published sales figures-these combos accounted for only 1/2 of 1% of 2014 production. 2013 and 2014 were only available years.

I have a JB4 in my Mav that shows what gear you are in, its comical sometimes when I look and I'm in 8th driving at 40mph.

Yep, at like 1300 rpm with the torque converter locked.

I do find amusing is that reverse is gear 14.

Ford has not produced a truck with a manual transmission since 2008. Today they only have manuals in Mustangs and Broncos- so as much as many of us would like to have one, it's not going to happen.

The manual transmission is dying out fast. I drove manuals exclusively for 50 years, and the Maverick is my first automatic. I'd like a smaller, two door Maverick, but that ain't gonna happen either. Economics 101. You sell the leastest product to the mostest people to make the biggest bucks.

More importantly, transmissions in general are the next thing to go. The kids today will be driving BEVs exclusively when they turn 16, and they'll look at you like you're a dinosaur when you talk about transmissions and oil changes and air filters and all the other mechanical madness we grew up with.

Beyond that, your kids kids will look at you in disbelief and horror if you live long enough to tell them that humans used to drive cars, and that we routinely slaughtered each other to the tune of 50,000 a year in the USA alone, maiming hundreds of thousands more. And we just put it out of our minds as "that's just life".
