Does anyone know if it's possible to remove and replace all the orange trim(air vents, handle backs, center storage area, etc) with say the black trim from an XL?
I don't really like the orange trim items either. I've got an XLT on order, I don't mind the 'Navy Pier' color scheme (my vehicle will be blue anyway), but the orange door pulls and console tray liners have got to go. My initial plan for these: cover the orange door pulls with a self adhesive black, leatherette material (which should be able to endure the wear and tear a door pull goes through over time). For the console trays, I plan on covering them with black felt (very inexpensive at a crafts store or 'wally world'). I'll either use a black paint pen for the vents, or just leave them orange. That's the plan, but we'll see when the real vehicle gets here. I've yet to actually get my hands on one, just seen a handful of Mavericks on the road so far.

Has anyone tried tennis racket grip/wrap?
I think the highlighter Yellow will distract anyone away from the other orange parts in the vehicle.

I must agree, I hate all that orange trim stuff in the XLT. I would be buying all the different parts to swap it all out with

I felt the same way when I first got my XLT. I ended up just changing out the large console tray piece for a black one from an XL. The smaller tray insert I just painted black. I got used to the rest of the orange accents real quick, I hardly notice them now, and in fact I kinda like them now.

I did the complete swap and it’s actually pretty straight forward.

The AC vents pretty much pop out. The center ones come out by pulling off the AC controls. The passenger side has an Allen on dash that needs to come out IIRC. Driver side also pops off but it helps if you remove the cluster cover.

The door parts are actually easier than they apper. I found an XL owner to swap with. When you remove the door panel, you’ll notice the screws holding the door Handle to the panel. There are also a few plastic rivets that you just cut off with razor blade. Once that’s off, just pull on the handle (it will pop off) then snap in the black ones and reinsert screws.
Obviously we still have the big orange trays so you can swap again or buy the large one Im black and Plastidip the small one.
Resurrecting this one: just wondering if you swapped with someone with an XL, or bought the XL trim from the dealer. If dealer, do you happen to have part numbers?

I'd take your orange door handles if you ever got rid of them. I have the black tray and vents as well.

I'm 50 and wasn't the biggest fan of the orange trim pieces when I took delivery of my Mav in Jan of 23. Over time I've grown to like the orange. Most people who have seen the interior have liked the orange inserts. I don't mind it and definitely don't think about it anymore (unless I see a thread like this :) ). If anything it just adds character to the truck.

I have a velocity orange truck so I love them, but they are tangerine, not orange. I got the seats recovered in black leather with orange stitching, it looks amazing with the tangerine accents 😍

See, and the center console is getting recovered in a week. And the steering wheel has been swapped out as well.

Same! I knew swapping the orange for black and getting seat covers was going to be my first "to-do" items. I'm still getting seat covers, but it is mainly for long term protection. The new Gray/White Mabett covers are appealing to me.

I know you'd posted this a long time ago, but I'm in my first month of Maverick ownership, so I thought I'd ask specifically... I removed the four exposed hex screws, and found the orange trim wouldn't budge. So it must be the plastic welds that I need to get past/defeat before I can remove the orange trim. I'd like to do this without having to remove the whole door card. Do you think it's possible with enough prying force? Thanks for any help on this.

I think you would damage the door panels before you got these out from prying them. You definitely have to cut them off from the back. Did you attempt it yet? I attached some images to show how they look.
