200 mile range is plum pitiful. I rented a 2011 Hyundai Sonata that's worth $4,469. Drove it 600 miles on a tank. 1/10th the price, 3x the range
My neighbor traded in his 2021 Mach E for a F-150 XLT. The Ford dealer where he bought the Mach E, gave him $28K for it. He paid over $65 when he bought it new. He told me he was done with EV's.

True, but keep in mind Ford's target price of $25-$30K Just means under $30k. Not necessarily Anywhere near $25K. If they could do it under $30K with 250+ range they will have a hit on their hands. If Tesla can sell the Model Y with 260 mile range under $32K, Ford should be able to offer similar range in an EV Maverick just under $30K easily.
Tesla has the charging stations that the other car makers don't have, so it's less expensive to charge a Tesla when on the road. Ford and other brands, now have a plug to use Tesla stations, but I'm sure there's a price above what Tesla owners pay.

LOL... It's so much fun tweaking the greenies. Think I'll go outside and start my tractor and let it run all day just for fun. Maybe even get my boat out in case the melting ice caps and glaciers start flooding earth. : ) : ) : )
Sounds good, I'm gonna go drive my hybrid to my gay Christian friends wedding. I'll send you pics if I get around to it.

I love my Mach-E. After a year of ownership and a little over 7K miles(11,265 km)it is hands down the best vehicle I have ever owned. I even like it better than my Maverick........GASP!

That being said I feel bad for the 2021 guys but I won't bore any one with the details as to why. I understand why Ford had to bring it to market not quite ready though. I mean six years and billions of dollars in r&d at some point you eventually have say "OK, enough is enough lets build the damn thing and see if it sells.".

I Haven't read all 25 pages, but a local Ford dealer sent this to me, it seems that Ford can't move the Mach-E's..

Now, a full BEV maverick would never be at the 25-30K price point. I feel a PHEV Maverick would be at the 30K price point, but a BEV would be at least 35K+

$12,600 price cut. My first house didn't cost that much.

Mach-E sales might be slowing but the YoY sales are actually greater than 2023 which was the best year ever for EV sales in North America.

Mach-E February 2024 Sales: 2,930 (64.3% increase YoY from February 2023)

Look boomer nobody cares what you paid for a house in 1980. Times change and long gone are the days were you can find a nice house in a good neighborhood for $12K.

OUCH, Boomer... My first house in San Diego was 125K, and my first house in Phoenix was 64K. BTW, when you discount a car 12K people will buy.. Doesn't mean its a great car/suv/BEV.

I was on my third house in 1980. I diapered a few boomers. But, no matter. I was not aware that this is your private part of the forum. I shall leave you to marinate in private.

I like the idea of a plug-in hybrid Maverick variant. Using a gallon of gas per week for my commute and a fist full of dollars in electricity. Food for thought.

I know I would, probably to go alongside our hybrid. This is Ford's affordable electric vehicle platform, internally called CE1, created by a very talented team of ex apple and Tesla engineers. It's apparently going to be used for an electric maverick and bronco sport, likely other vehicles as well.

I know 25-30k seems too good to be true, but Ford seems very committed to delivering at this price point.
I’m never gonna buy an EV unless it’s a town car/SUV. The hybrid has worked out perfectly and during a long trip I get 35 mph. I’m good with that.

Heck yeah! I'm a little nervous about going full EV...would rather it be a plug-in hybrid. But with a home charger (and assuming the wife's still got her gas-powered family car for longer trips), I'd pull the trigger.

Wife's car is an EV and it's been great, 2017 Chevy Bolt, it's been her favorite car by far. No service, no trips to a gas station in 8 years. They recalled the battery on them, had it swapped one afternoon a couple years ago. It's been a nice 240 mile range "regional" car, so she commutes, takes it to the nearest "big city" 2 hours away from time to time for Costco runs or for the airport. The "fast" charging is too slow on all the domestic brands, if they can catch up with the standard 800v 18-20 minute fast charge time, get the range up to 350+, get the NACS charging ports rolled out universally, and the price in check, I'd buy another EV. This one will last a long, long time though in its current role.
