Yes Sir... Keep your head in the dirt and keep on drinking the green kool-aid... Hope it gets you where you want to go. I still didn't get an explanation why Mother Earths Natural Oil is bad.
It's not. But it will run out some day. We realistically have maybe a couple hundred years to sort it out. No need for bans, or fascist ultimatums. Smart people, and the desire for better things, will lead the way. Or, I guess rather, SHOULD lead the way.

For all the climate alarmists, consider for a moment, there is not one factual shred of evidence, that even if we magically had a global conversion to 100% BEV's tomorrow, that the climate would change one iota.

It's always fun to take an enormously complex subject (the earths climate), and boil it down to one simple answer. Then we can all feel virtuous & satisfied that we've fixed something, and condemn those who dare question it.

If we're a decent, morale species, then the question should be; how can we best use our resources today, to improve the lives of every human on earth, today, and tomorrow. When approached in this direction, you see where the EV push really starts to fall apart.

Me: A politically neutral poster who just wanted to have an intelligent conversation on something I'm passionate about watching the thread I started decaying into a political shouting match.

I was just using another posters word. All laws and regulations are enforced by the government with force implied if you're non compliant. Call the IRS and tell them you won't pay taxes. I don't think an individual should use force. If it's the law that's someone else job
Of course. At least you seem to understand that much.

Yep this sums it up well. My thought is we have time. Humans are great at solving problems we have to. And with advances we may be able to make the oil last for longer than the human race. Was long ago you only got very low mpg out of gas in a car now most massive trucks run on very little fuel consumption when compared to decades ago cars.

It's also fun to use false humility to refuse to face the possibility that your own actions are negatively affecting others so therefore enabling no discomfort by having to decide between doing what you want to or think might be the right thing.
I like gas cars but I prefer to get medical advice from a doctor not a guy at the end of the bar or someone who's personal preferences makes them biased towards a ln opinion on something that isn't their field of expertise.
I see condemnation from some but I also see a chip on the shoulder complex. Cheers!

Perhaps you're the one drinking the Kool-Aid? You're making an idiotic argument. Ok oil is great , head into your garage, fire up the engine and enjoy the "all natural" exhaust. Lemme know how it works out

Well it’s much more Natural than what’s in batteries. You can drink oil and yes get sick but you more likely will survive, but not with batteries. The correct take is both are bad but to what degree.
You really need to move on from the argument of conspiracy. Because I could pull days of people screaming at the sky about global warming and how ice engines kill. In fact his take is no more or less crazy than yours. He believes oils isn’t an issue. You clearly think it is. What if it’s not what you have been told. Then who’s the conspiracy theorist.
Yes one person thinks the moon is made of cheese, the other doesn't. Both equally valid theories I suppose. He's old and probably hates anything knew and different.
I'm not breathing in batteries nor am I saying they're perfect and pollution free. However I'm an optimistic and believe they can be improved.
Invent a carbon capture machine thats feasible and breed some brontosaurus's to ensure the oil lasts forever and I'm on board

Party on, kids. I'll sweep the floor and lock up.
Don't come back tomorrow, unless you have a boat.

LOL... It's so much fun tweaking the greenies. Think I'll go outside and start my tractor and let it run all day just for fun. Maybe even get my boat out in case the melting ice caps and glaciers start flooding earth. : ) : ) : )
Sounds pretty dumb but enjoy.! Never really considered myself a greenie (not sure what that is,) personally I like working on cars, watch shows like top gear or the Grand tour etc. But I'm not a cartoon like I guess you seem to be. I actually do have offspring and a brain and would like him to have a decent world to live in. But yeah, just do what makes your little primate brain happy today...

I'm not clear on what you're trying to say, but searching for the truth is really (or should be) the only agenda.

So the ice isn't melting? The glaciers aren't going away?
Good to know. I feel better. Thanks.

If it went 0-60 in 4 seconds, at that price point it would be a no-brainer.

Yes, if:
  • 275+ miles of range (with 4 adults and luggage)
  • <6s 0-60
  • Extremely reliable (better than the hybrid)
Nice to haves:
  • AWD
  • Frunk for groceries.

I wouldn't be interested in Maverick EV for 25 - 30k. I'm not interested in EVs in general for many reasons. I particularly dislike how they're being forced on us by Govts. Maybe if someone sold a local runabout for 5 - 10k, I'd consider it. That's very unlikely due to safety regs etc. For a used Leaf or something like it, you'd have to confirm the battery had plenty of life left in it - if it needed replacing, the car is a throwaway.
You can't buy a golf cart under 10K anymore, maybe a used one. I'm with you about the EV movement, not for me either!
