Absolutely. I can't begin to tell you how often I've "lost" my truck in a parking lot, simply because two F-150s pulled in on either side of me.
At the same time? This isn't exactly the Kei truck that people like to tease.
It's just...a truck. Probably all the truck that most folks need...
My wish list?
Front parking assist sensors. I mistakenly thought these were included in the upgraded package I got for my XLT. But that only has the rear backup and cross-traffic alerts. I definitely would upgrade here.
Some kind of protection for the B-pillar, where the seat belt buckle...
Biggest surprise for me? This isn't the "baby twuk" everyone likes to tease about.
I haven't had a pickup since my '79 Silverado. I also have ridden around in my dad's '85 S-10 quite a bit, and borrowed his 2000 GMC from time to time.
This feels more like my old full-size than the cramped...
I was super picky here - the fender flares were the one, big, purely cosmetic thing I did for myself. Mabett's got the best I've seen. It'll be over $100, but if you hit it on a Prime Day sale or something they're not much more.
Maybe I'm weird, but I really dig the new front end.
Old style still looks good - no problems there. But the daggers at the edges of the 25+ lights give them a cool, angular look.
I love my Maxina window visors. They're very low profile, don't block the side mirrors, and are just wide enough to keep the sun out of my eyes. I don't crack the windows all that often, but that extra inch or two of shade comes in handy!
I wouldn't say it's my "favorite"...it's not the sort of thing one gets super excited about...but the glove box organizer is one of the best upgrades I've done. Cheap, quick, simple, and incredibly useful.
If I had to pick a favorite? For mine, it'd either be the Mabett fender flares or the...
Seriously considering this one. I'll be paying attention the next couple of days to how much glare I get from my dash. I'm not 100% sold on usability - my dash isn't a place that's likely to get scratched - but it does look like it'll match my black and blue aesthetic nicely.
MABETT CHRISTMAS, EVERYONE!
Not a huge update...hardly enough to call it part of the "build"...but I did just load up on pretty much all the remaining Mabett tech I had been wanting for the interior. Two under-seat storage bins, color-matched door trays, and under-seat mats. Plus the bed net...
My best truck prior to this was a '79 squarebody I'd probably still be driving if it didn't get stolen.
I love my Mav. But I almost can't believe how big this "mini" truck can be. No side by side photos, obviously, but it doesn't feel all that much different than my Silverado.
Not a ton, and not much that'd be visible from the outside. Fender flares are the main thing I added to keep it from looking entirely stock.
There's also the window tint and window vents, and some extras like the voltmeter/USB plugs in the bed, tailgate lettering, and all the various covers to...
