I could have told you this was coming. From the Mach E to the F-150 and the new Ranger. Only Bronco is the only one with a horizontal screen.
and with the 12" screen it's got some funky custom code Ford wrote to display Android Auto or CarPlay on the left 3/4 and the right 1/4 is reserved for things you can select like 4WD status, tilt angle, trip meter.. or things that are completely redundant like music and maps.

But I think that's academic, because I also believe this white thing is a reflection like someone else mentioned. The image is very wrong for a vertical screen, look at it compared to the dash.

Just go with a Horizontal screen and fill the stupid cubby. Add Sirius standard . Go with a spilt rear bench seat and have a radio upgrade for the XLT along with standard adaptive cruse control and blindside warnings. Make the 110 outlets a option and extend the bed 6 inches .

“I just hope the Maverick doesn't get dressed up too much so that it loses the value proposition. Folks are buying these because they're handy and economical, not overcomplicated and newfangled.”

I just wish they could have properly secured a ring terminal to the end of a cable....

Making me glad I snagged a 2024 XL despite it's increased cost over 22' 23'. All in all the ecoboost didn't increase in price that much.

I'm pretty sure the hybrid in 22' and 23' was a loss leader to gain market penetration. Now they're gonna take that investment back by adding items they can use to justify cost increase and margin increase. Maybe 🤷‍♂️, who the heck knows what the market will drive the next few years.

If that means they might have taken out some of the manual controls for the HVAC and heated seats, no thank you. If it means they upgraded the audio system, that could be nice. I'm not some teeny-bopper mesmerized by large touchscreens. In fact, after having vehicles with too many functions controlled by them, I don't care for them at all.

What strikes my interest more is that two-gauge pod on the "A" pillar. What are they monitoring and why?

Maybe they could fix their software instead of giving us more screen to stare at as it locks up unresponsive.

Ugh.

Ford, why don't you get it? Not everyone wants the "Tesla" bullshit.

This is ALL we wanted. This is all we asked for. Just a 12 inch screen, with no stupid, useless cubby hole.
Ford Maverick Updated 2025 Maverick w/ larger vertical screen spotted! 1707400797688

I really hope the large vertical screen is just an upgrade option and not standard. Although, who am I kidding? I love my Maverick and don't plan on ever getting rid of it. So why do I care?

Actually, I know exactly why I care, it's because I want to walk overto my parts department and buy a larger screen that will just plug-N-play into my Maverick.

want vs need isn't overly complicated, good sir. (y)

no one needs it. not even vision impaired, as the text size almost certainly won't change on a larger display. you just get more. the truck works as-is, and the display you get with the B&O system is better than the base, but they're the same size.

several replies here indicate they don't want a bigger screen whether it's horizontal or vertical.

several others indicate they would like to have it vertical, others just want bigger whether it's horizontal or vertical. that's where I'm at. nice to have.

Why is this such a hard concept to grasp from auto manufacturers? We don't want our lighting controls in menus inside menus in a touchscreen, we don't want massive vertical screens consuming the interior, we do want physical controls for HVAC, and no piano black shiny cheap plastics.
They don't care, bottom line is more important than customer satisfaction - witness GM and no AA/CP. A single screen is cheap and replaces a multitude of switches and wires. And until enough people say NO or the NHTSA rules out functions buried deep in menus, this will continue. And my guess is that even if the NHTSA rules against them they'll do something like turn off all menus while the car is in motion. It will meet the safety requirement and still be cheap.

I was able to infiltrated Ford build and price site and see the future 2025 Maverick /S

I am obviously joking and being sarcastic

Noticed the following:
  • Push to start moved to the right location
  • USB ports are now under the tray and phone holder
  • -1 air vent saves .25c per car
  • Increased cubby size for cubby stuff
  • Rear sliding window is not longer available, saves a whole dollar!
Price increase is just $2,995 and hybrid is now 1 wheel drive only for an extra $3,455

Ford know his customers. We complained about the cubby size so now they made it bigger to fit more stuff. The choice is yours! :ROFLMAO:
