The spy shot is far from clear, what are the chances it could be a laptop or other test screen to display telemetry? Of course, the Ranger having one already does diminish that possibility quite a bit.

Was really hoping for just a longer horizontal display to fill the cubby that would be backward compatible.
Yeah something about the position of that is off, plus what is covering half of it. I think it a diagnostic laptop on a mount up high and it is just blocking the normal screen. Whatever that may be.

Gauge pods tell me this could be our performance version, come on 2.3 baby!

Don't want a flat screen TV in my truck. Don't need it. These giant screens have to contribute their share to distracted driving. I like the one I got, wish it was a bit brighter while using AppleCarPlay but otherwise just fine.

Have a really good look at that picture, I'd wager that is a white door reflected in the side window, you can even see the doorknob. The reflected image just conveniently covers the original info screen.
SCroll down a few pictures and it shows the new screen

I do not care for vertical screens however I liked the one in the ranger better than expected when I sat in it.

That being said.... seems like an odd decision when you would think they would just use the screen that they are putting in the escape....

As long as we do not loose any physical buttons for climate, etc - it may be nice. I had a Ford Escape loaner, and while the screen was bright, sharp, fast - the on screen controls for seat warmer, climate etc was unintuitive and confusing.

I had some hope they wouldn't refresh the interior but instead find a suitable 10" horizontal screen that replaced the 8" but oh well.

I don't need or want a bigger screen. It displays what it needs to just fine.
I have to agree. Back in the days I would have thought "cool, more room for maps and features" but they seem to have gone the opposite direction and still don't even make the buttons big enough to press while driving without taking our eyes completely off the road. I'm not old by any means, but I aint young either, and I hate this trend of large screens being put in vehicles.

No big vertical screen is seen here.

Ya all be hallucinating.

It could very much be a reflection or to me, looks like a piece of paper taped to the dash.

Whatever it is; the photos we have DO NOT SHOW a larger "vertical" screen.
