No discernable difference. The speedometer error is not worth messing with unless you are just OCD about tiny differences.

Thanks, Steve. Good poop. Re. speedo difference, I don't really care. My XL doesn't have cruise control anyway, so I am all over the place speed-wise. The truck speedo may operate off the wheels, but my garmin operates off the satellites, and probably NEITHER of them comes within the 1.8 percent. Thanks again. From what you guys say, it looks like the 235 will be no trouble. Knock wood.

I said in our RV forum, and I say it here…”I hate buying tires.”
And batteries.

So darn much out there!

The Speedo thing...

An extra 1.8% of tire would tend to make the speedometer more accurate.

I put 235s on the wife's Mav because 235s have higher load range available. That let me get a tougher tire for our dirt road. No problems in any way.

Ray, funny you should mention that. My 2004 Ford Retrobird speedo was off 2 mph. I put one-size larger tires on it, and the speedo became dead-on, which the club members told me would happen. Go figure.

Update....MUCH better with the 225 vs the 235 yok geolander cv 4s (which I experienced for 2 days in exact same conditions). This is a new 3 peak snowflake tire and I will report on how they work in snow when we get some!

Some mavericks come with 235 tires. 235 is standard on the Tremor and an option on the AWD with 4k tow.

So going to 235 should not be a problem

My next set I will be going from 225/60/18 to 235/65/18. I want something taller. Fill the wheel wells a bit more. I would stay with 225's (better for snow) but none are made. So 235/65/18 CC2's it is. Should give a bit better ride too.

I am running 235/60/18s and like them. With the Nokian Outpost APTs there is a tiny bit more noise, maybe and mileage is basically the same on my Hybrid.

Don't let your wife read that sentence... She may not take it as you intended when you wrote it...
