I've been told my hybrid is in shipping and I'm debating upgrading the tires. Any off-roading will probably be limited to the beach and maybe some dirt roads.

Right now I'm leading towards the Wildpeak A/T Trail in 225/65R17.

The other option I'm considering is the Wildpeak A/T3W in 235/65R17.

My thinking is the trails are sized the same as the stock tires so I wont have to mess with any speedometer stuff, and they are marginally lighter than the A/T3Ws so hopefully wont affect mpg on road too much. I just haven't seen anyone else talking about this particular model.

Well thanks, I did some research on these and opted for these instead. It also helped that discount tire had a deal right now where it ended up being a couple hundred dollars cheaper for a set of 5.
Did you get 225 size? Are they 3 peak snow rated? I kind of want a better tire, but if I ever get hybrid, the last thing I want is to hurt the mileage efficiency with the wrong tire etc.

I was debating the wildpeak trails vs at/3 in 235/65/17.
I ended up with the trails and they’ve been great this winter in the snow and ice.

one thing I did learn in my research is that the at/3 in 235/65/17 is a watered down version of the tire that wasmade specifically for ford with economy in mind. I think it’s actually lighter than the trail in that size (which is counter intuitive) and has less robust sidewalls.

I have 245/65-17 Wildpeak Trails on my AWD. Great tire, nice and quiet, still getting 25MPG… just an all around great tire.

I did find out after installation that the tires are meant for unibody SUVs and crossovers, maybe that’s why the ride is nice.

I ended up going with the Michelin Defenders.

The guy at Discount Tire told me that I should consider replacing the lugnuts because the Ford ones being two piece could cause problems down the road, so I went ahead and got black one piece ones. The guy seemed excited to have a Maverick in the shop since it was the first one he had seen in person.

The 235 65 r17 vs 225 65 r17 isn't much difference. The 225 235 is width of tire so it's wider. The 65 is diameter the r17 is rim size. Some people have put on a ko2 in 245 65 r17 and they fit no lift they do stick out a tiny bit. So few options you got toyo that makes a 3 (can't remember model) that's an aggressive tire tread like a k02. Its 235 65 r17 which is the optional tire size. You know you can option the hybrid with rims and tires that are the falcon wild peak tires. It's the silver rims.

I went with new tires as the problem scorpions couldn't get up a hill. To be fair it's 16 degrees and basicly loose gravel. A 93 mazda/ranger did it in 4 low no problem same with a 2016 f150 in 4 low both went up. The mavrick started got partway then sank into it and started digging. More aggressive tires should help not sure if it will be enough but I will find out.
