I have nothing to complain about. I really enjoy my Mavericks, we have three. Only oil changes. No rattles. Quiet. Comfortable. Very nice.

Today is the last day of 2023. It was a very good year. And today was a very good day.

We woke early, as retired folk may do. The Mavericks were covered in frost, so I hit the remote start on Tina the XLT Lux EcoBoost and let her warm up for 5 minutes. I had to lightly hit the side windows with a scraper, and then we were off to Walmarts' at 6AM because we were out of milk. We got the best non-handicaped parking space, the one next to the one reserved for our law enforcement partners. The shelves were completely stocked and we had a nice chat with Ms. Wendy at the self check-out, wished each other a happy and prosperous New Year. On the trip home, once we got off the dual highway, we were able to avoid a group of 5 deer crossing the county road quite easily. A half mile further, we turned on our lane and watched a gorgeous mature Red Tailed Hawk flying over the front pasture. He has spent the past few winters here and keeps the mice under control. Back into the house for a cuppa coffee, then Sparky the Hybrid XLT Lux was started and made the rounds delivering morning feed to the various farm animals. The farm lanes are still muddy from all the rain, but the standard Continentals had no problem. Found our first new lambs of the season, nice fat twins, and their mother was very attentive and caring. Another day, another miracle.

In the afternoon, Sparky and I spent a few hours with the chainsaw and pole saw clearing brush and deadfalls in the woods. Once hunting season is over, we will move a herd of cows back there for the rest of the winter. Then back to the house to watch recordings of the football games. Sparky the Hybrid drove me around for the evening feeding, it was still too muddy to use the moped, and I really appreciate those heated seats.

I am sorry that some people are complaining but I am not one of them. I am a very lucky, very happy, Maverick owner.

Happy New Year to you all!

I go on this forum everyday to read, and learn things about the Maverick. People complain about rattles, harsh ride, radio Is not quality etc. If these things bother you, buy a car, "NOT A TRUCK". Again they state this is my first new car, It's a Truck! Over the years, I have bought many vehicles, most used, 10 to 15 new. (I've been driving 66 years) stop comparing apples with oranges. Trucks do truck things, move a refrigerator, if you want comfort, buy a Camry. Just my humble opion. The Maverick is the best bang for the buck out there!
I agree! I have noticed that some people these days have a sense of entitlement and an overinflated opinion of their own value. This Maverick in comparative pricing terms would be similar to the price of the original Maverick car of the 70s. All that aside, the quality is much higher than anything from the seventies from our domestic market. Take a ball peen hammer, give it a ding and relax.

Even cars rattle, or don’t have the best ride. The Maverick WAS the best bang for the buck until Ford dirtied the brand. I’ve been waiting for my hybrid for quite a while, but I wouldn‘t give them the price they are asking for today.

I don’t normally respond to posts, there always seems to be snarky comments and backlash no matter the statement, comment, suggestion or idea.
With that said; we purchased our hybrid Lariat for the price point and looks, was fortunate enough to have a Ford sales person take me for a drive in his. The ride was smooth “for a truck” and vehicle had over 10k miles. We went in with somewhat low expectations, relying mostly on the economical stats.
After14 months of waiting and 90+ days of commuting in eco mode, I have received between 44-50 mpg, in normal mode I receive 38-42. Ride is smooth, takes curves like a car and has power to spare. I’m not out racing, just driving as I would our Mercedes C300 trade in. I am stopped and asked about my cool-looking truck at least once a week and all are impressed with how many options were included, the interior and mileage.
Wife and I are very impressed and happy with our “cheap” purchase. Even my hard to please father was left without a complaint to share.
In my 45years of driving over 20 different makes, body styles, models and ages/miles at purchase; I would slot this in my top five easily.
Have a peaceful, safe and blessed New Year and bash away, bash away, bash away all. (Grandson named the truck)

I love my Maverick and have zero complaints but I'm not following the logic here. Why should someone be expected to put up with things like rattling and bad radio quality just because it's a truck?

Most that complain probably don’t even own one.
Probably Dodge of Government Motors fans.
Most of the complaints are because most of the people don’t own one… and they have been waiting so long to change that.

Legitimate complaints that require dealer warranty service will occur on all vehicles and we expect them to be handled.

The people who have unrealistic expectations of what a vehicle should be are the ones that cause the truck to look like it has more problems than it does.

I recently looked at a member's post history who had multiple complaints. Every thread was that "the truck was a piece of junk and here's proof!!"

3/5 of those threads were about features all vehicles have as part of normal operation.

Just because a vehicle gets a paint chip doesn't mean that the manufacturer used inferior paint and the vehicle should be repainted under warranty.

You forgot about all the experts. I've read several comments that were posted by people who can defy the laws of physics and chemistry. It's worth putting up with the complaints just to be enlightened by those few geniuses.

I don't disagree about the complaining but I wouldn't call it a truck either. It has all the dimensions of the minivan I gave up and it drives like it too. It's a handy vehicle for sure.
It clearly is a truck. Look up truck on dictionary.com: any of various forms of vehicle for carrying goods and materials, usually consisting of a single self-propelled unit but also often composed of a trailer vehicle hauled by a tractor unit.

To the internet initiated, this is modus operandi for when a whole big bunch of people gather to discuss anything. It's like the bell curve in your big college classes. No matter how great the car is, a certain percentage will complain (aka fail the agreable curve). In college class of 200 people, no mattter how easy the test is, some are gonna fail.

Agree completely.

But, I've found some true complaints. Most importantly is cheap Hyundai cv joints failing at <25k mi.
Where minor lift kits used, they fail at around 12k mi.

Not good ford!!!

It is a car with a bed though. If I wanted to feel like I was driving a real truck I would not have bought my Maverick. Luckily my Mav rides just like a car with a couple extra inches of ground clearance.
