So today, I experimented with BAP'ing my headlights on my '23 XLT. I can write about my experience in a later post, but let's just say that it took longer than I expected. The result was I was only able to BAP one of my headlights, leaving one BAP'ed and the other regular. I thought this would be an interesting side-by-side comparison for anyone considering doing the process or buying BAP'ed headlights before I go back and BAP the other.

Hope you all find this helpful!

I now know that I prefer BAP'd. And, if I decide to BAP my 24XL Eco (ETA dealer Nov 13 - 19 : ), I'll do what I can to learn about the process before I commence. Thanks very much!

I love the BAP look, but I dont know that id have the patience to do it to my headlights. I just really want to buy a set of front and back.

Take the opportunity to park in front of a light (or a dark, for that matter) wall, to see the difference in light output.
Take some pics, and post please!

Is the process the same as the taillights? Soaking in zep to remove the chrome?

I can do that. Either when I get home from work or before I head into work tomorrow.
I did this last night and can tell you there’s no visible differences.

In theory, yes. Except you need to open the housing for the headlight since you don’t want to strip away the reflective portion of the light. This requires heating up the lens with a heat gun or putting it in the oven.

The tail lights are super simple and I would highly recommend doing those to save some money. The headlights take quite a bit of patience. You will need to take apart the front end of your truck to get the lights out, then bake them in the oven. To me, that’s the difficult part.

I would suggest doing the backs. They are quite simple to do and nowhere near as complicated as the fronts. It does take time to do, but that’s also because I was being super careful.

Awesome! This was my first foray into headlights, it shouldn’t be too hard for you. I’m sure you know the drill!

I like the look. Reminds me of the headlights on my wife's Jeep Cherokee which look awesome good but I lack the patience to go through the process of converting them and have more important things to do with my $$$$$ than to replace perfectly good headlamps strictly for cosmetic purposes. Yes, I am cheapish. :ROFLMAO:
