It's an unfair comparison. The Ranger is only a 2 DR cab while the Maverick is a 4 Dr cab.

2022 MAVERICK
Height 68.7 in.
Length 199.7 in.

Wheelbase 121.1 in.

Couple more looks:

At the top of your compaison, you listed the basic dimensions of the '08 Ranger vs. the new '22 Maverick; but the numbers I looked up don't match what you have shown: You've posted 203.6 inch total length for the '08 Ranger, but I think that number is for the Extended cab '08 Ranger.

I currently drive a bright red '02 XLT Ranger regular cab short (6") bed, (very similar to your pictures) which has an overall length of 189.4. When my new Maverick is delivered, I'm planning to reconfigure the storage and shelving in my tight 2-Car garage, because the new truck will be >10" longer than my '02 Ranger. I was hoping your numbers were correct, because that would mean I wont have to reconfigure my garage, but I confirmed my original numbers at this site:

Be cautious of that kit. There’s been numerous complaints across the Bronco Sport forums.

Don't cheap out with a spacer, do a legit leveling kit. You'll be a lot happier in the the long run.

Wow. I did not realize until I went through the pics that the Ranger is a regular cab, not extended. And still longer than the Mav!

According to Edmunds, the Ranger 2dr came in standard and Long Bed versions. The Long Bed was 201.4 while the standard bed (or short bed) was 189.4. This is the Long Bed version of the 2008 Ranger. The 4dr was 203.6 in long.

In summary, the Maverick is longer than the standard size Ranger, around 2 inchs shorter than the extended bed Ranger and about 4 inchs shorter than the 4 dr Ranger.

Ever since I got interested in the Maverick, I started noticing the early 2000's Ford Explorer Sport Trac. Its quite similar in size and body style.

They must not have been popular because Ive only seen a few around. Ive seen more mavericks than sport tracks.
Funny thing is, back in 2005, I probably would have thought it was a dumb/ugly body style.

The proportions on that Ranger just don't look good. I think the only recent single cab I've seen that I liked is the Ram 1500 w/ the shortbed.

I had a 2008 Ranger Extended Cab. I loved the truck but rust was not its friend
