Just wait until the rumored Plug-in Hybrid Maverick arrives. I passed on placing an order for MY22 Mav hybrid hoping MY23 would bring the PHEV, but decided to order the hybrid and figure I can sell it as new used when PHEV Mac arrives.
Previously had 2014 Ford CMax Energy PHEV and got a few 1500 mile tankfuls when the bulk of the around town trips were under 20 miles and plugged in at work or home to top it up. Liked the build quality (go Michigan!) and handling, but storage was none existent and turning radius was terrible.

I am thinking the drivetrain of hybrid Mav is similar to CMax hybrid (without plug-in larger battery), but a much more useable package.

Maybe someone will figure out a battery jack down the road (post warranty) to retrofit plug-in battery or just a larger hybrid battery. . . Now back to the current Mav’s tank range.
Honestly, I prefer the hybrid power system. No telling where I might find myself where it might be difficult to locate a charging station. Even if I run out of gas, any tow truck is going to have a 5 gallon can of gas to get me on my way.

As do I, hybrid drivetrains (ICE and electric drive) give you flexibility. Maybe I was not clear, adding a larger battery that can be charged externally by plugin in has allowed PHEV hybrid cars to have extended range before the ICE (internal combustion engine) kicks in. Not to be confused with full EV vehicles.

Oh. More like I was not familiar with that extended range technology than it was you being unclear. Thank you for the explanation.

Just wanted to share my first fill up here. Well, I'll fill up after work. Awesome mileage for a truck. My F-150 and it's 18-19 mpg were... Disappointing...

Nice.

That's above average for sub-freezing weather. Do you get to park indoors, heated garage space perhaps?

I don't have a pic but my first 2 tanks of gas have averaged 45.2 mpg @630 miles per tank!

Normally, I would be parking in my garage where I parked my F-150. Unfortunately, the F-150 was replaced by moving boxes.... So, no garage space just yet. Maybe this weekend, the Maverick will be able to move back in. (We are loading a POD with furniture that needs to be out before listing the house). The garage is heated a little. I let it drop down to about 50F in there but don't want it to freeze the chemicals and paint.

I must say, the Maverick heats up pretty quick when remote starting.

That has not been true in 25 years.
Maybe that's where the 13.8 gallon number comes from for our 16 gallon tanks. Maybe 13.8 is the recommended usable gas. The rest is "reserve" or possibly for cooling.
If cooling was was requirement it should not depend on the user. It's should be part of the design.
Lots of disinformation here…Ford specifically says don’t fill past pump shutoff, for various reasons including damage to emissions systems
