My Hybrid Maverick's current mileage is 9,722.

Last night I returned from a trip with my wife, my oldest son, my youngest son's girlfriend and of course myself - 4 adults* to visit my youngest son while training in Lawton, Oklahoma.

12 hour trip driving one way and then another 12 hours back to Indiana totaling 1700 miles - not one hiccup, great gas milage and surprising pep in all driving conditions and temperatures - it was 104 degrees F. (!) in Oklahoma on Wednesday last week.

My husband is from Brownsburg, IN! We used to live in central TX (8 very long Army years...) and made that drive from there to visit his parents a couple of times. I had a 2010 VW Sportwagen TDI with manual transmission. Got 47 mpg on one RT over about 2,300 miles, including the driving around we did there. EPA estimate for that car was 41 highway, but we now know why my car exceeded that expectation...

The absolutely insane city fuel economy on my hybrid.

I decided to hyper-mile it one day while running around town shopping and I broke 109 MPG. Driving around town in a way to do that was a feat and not how you would want to drive it every outing, but it was fun.

My usual 'grandpa' driving has me around 52-55 MPG. My wife drives a bit more aggressively and hits the rated 42 without an issue.

The e-CVT.

From this point on in life I only want two transmissions. A manual for my pleasure cars and an e-CVT in everything else. This is my first experience with an e-CVT and I am shocked how fantastic it is. Zero hesitation, seeking, or delay in the response. It is so smooth! It makes our Ecoboost Flex's transmission feel pre-historic and savage.

It is a shame the transmission even has the letters CVT in it as it immediately makes people think of a traditional CVT. All of which are absolutely terrible, with the Jatco used in Nissans as the worst of them all.

My Maverick has exceeded my expectations in soooo many ways. It's comfortable, great gas mileage, easy to park and always ready to do anything I need it to do. If there was any complaint... I'm not blown away with the audio.... however... that is a very minor complaint.

We sold our Nissan rogue and upgraded to the maverick because of this. The fake programed shifting is what drove me over the edge.

Oh, come on!

Are you telling me you don't like sheets of paper used as speakers and placed directly next to the rear passenger's ear?!

Someone is being a diva!

mileage is getting better - maybe there's some internal tuning going on but I am getting 45+ mpg (mostly city) whereas last year maybe 42. A/C is wonderful, paint has held up well and have had 0 problems in almost a year.
My two previous hybrids did not get their best mileage until they were approaching 90k. I think the ICE in a hybrid really does take awhile in get fully broken in.

I have a 2022 Maverick XLT Hybrid, Cactus Grey with 15,986 miles on it. I made two trips from Texas to New Mexico, one trip from Texas to Bardstown, KY and one trip from Texas to Grandfather Mt. NC. I have never had a problem at all with anything. I change my oil every 7,000 miles at the dealer to take advantage of their free vehicle inspection routine and I have them rotate and balance the tires at the same time. I always use Shell gasoline and I am getting 39.6 mpg for the total milage on the vehicle. Last summer I towed a 900 pound flat bed trailer with 100 bags of mulch and another 50 bags in the bed and I noticed no change in the way it drove at all. The truck is quiet, has a smooth ride and it is very easy to drive and the AC works really well. The standard radio is fine for my needs and the only complaint I have is the useless little cubby beside the video screen. Enough zip on the highway to handle any passing situation and all in all I am very pleased with my purchase.

Regarding the "useless" cubby, if you look around, try Etsy, it turns out Ford made that for creative folks to have one of those newfangled 3D printers. There are a whole lot of ingenious things for cheap you can do with it.

Interesting! By the time I get 90k miles on mine the kids will probably take the keys away from me :} It is rather great though...especially coming from my old Aviator that was getting a lofty 11 mpg, in the winter it got maybe 9. Ouch.

I agree that is a bit pricy. I did get a survey from Ford and my recommendation to them was to do away with the little cubby and give us a larger touch screen.

The cubby is the perfect location for my phone holder. I can easily see both the phone screen and the console screen at a glance.
