My Hybrid Maverick's current mileage is 9,722.

Last night I returned from a trip with my wife, my oldest son, my youngest son's girlfriend and of course myself - 4 adults* to visit my youngest son while training in Lawton, Oklahoma.

12 hour trip driving one way and then another 12 hours back to Indiana totaling 1700 miles - not one hiccup, great gas milage and surprising pep in all driving conditions and temperatures - it was 104 degrees F. (!) in Oklahoma on Wednesday last week.

Ford Maverick In what ways has your Maverick EXCEEDED expectations? self

Had to do a quick double-take when I saw "towing" in the caption, and "105" indicated on the dash... Then realized it was KPH, nor MPH! Somehow, 105 kph just "sounds" faster than 66 mph! 🤣

Hahaha. We just did 7000km (4350 miles) in the last two weeks and I saw plenty of jokers doing 100mph with trailers on!!!!! No thanks…. Maverick was awesome towing.

Yeah - I see those guys here in Texas, as well. Driving a 4x4 F350 dually towing a 20,000 lb fifth-wheel at ridiculous speeds. Then they complain about the "China Bomb" trailer tires when they get the inevitable blowout. (Those LT ST trailer tires are max rated for 65 mph...) They scare the hell out of me. Whenever possible, I take backroads and state highways to avoid the interstates... (Better MPG, as well.)

** Corrected type from "LT" to "ST" on tire type. Not enough caffeine!

Be extra careful not to hit the start/stop button while Mav is moving. When engine is shut off it automatically puts transmission into park. I accidentally did while trying to retrieve a pair of sunglasses. Fortunately I was moving maybe 2mph in a wide open parking lot. Sounded like someone had stuck several playing cards in the spokes of a moving bicycle. Thank goodness, it doesn’t seemed to have done any damage. No more hanging sunglasses over top of info center while getting out to fillup. I seem to have read someone else accidentally did something similar. Be nice if Ford would put a little safety cover over that button.
So does the lariat have push button start? The other trims are traditional key ignitions only.

Until it occurs to you that someone may have seen you punch in the "lock" code, assume you left the key inside, and may be waiting until you're out of sight to break in, retrieve said key, and steal your truck. That thought entered my mind the first time I locked the key in....and I've never done it since. I guess it's a matter of how crime prone your area is.
Don't 4get you can always change the unlock code when you want to....

Yep the lariat is push button start. It’s nice sometimes but sometimes it’s a pain to have that feature. I was in my wife’s limited explorer one day and dropped her at front door of Walmart to pickup a couple items and I drove to far end of parking lot to Murphys to fill up. Shut off car filled up hop back in and crap she’s got her keys in her purse. I had to leave car at the pump go over to store find her and get the keys.

To be fair, the tires that come with trailers are usually garbage. The problem is compounded when you have a mouth breather driving the truck + trailer

The chances are you meant ST, the common designation for trailer tires and not LT or light truck. Generally, the ST tires speed rating is 65 mph, although there are some ST tires with speed rating of "L", 75 mph.

The LT tire, if one can fit it on to the trailer, has much higher speed rating; for example the Michelin LTX 235/85R16 has speed rating of "S", 112 mph.

In either case, I agree that going over 65 mph when towing a trailer is nuts and asking for trouble...

Yes - ST, not LT! Thanks. I will correct my original post.

I've had reasonably good luck with them, once I learned that the dealerships do NOT properly inflate them, and that ALL tires need to be replaced after 4-5 years of sitting in the UV light, regardless of how few miles may be on them.

My dog can climb into this truck, the old Tundra was getting to be a problem for him.

I did not expect my Mav to have the solid but comfortable ride that it gives. Front seats are excellent on a trip. Happy.

Pretty much meet all my expectations!
That was a really nice video review! I've not watched any others, but I am working my way through this wonderfully positive thread right now, and decided to go all in on every comment, reading every comment and looking at every picture.

Just got one page left to go, truly enjoyed so many positive comments, and looking forward to the day that my vehicle actually gets built.
