I am new to the Ecoboost and these small turbo motors. I am wanting to find a lil more performance and sound from this thing now. I wasn't going to mess with it, but the more I drive it the more I want to have a nice lil performance truck. So my thoughts are these and I will take some recommendations if ya'll want to give some. I am going to do the Steeda BOV and K&N Cold Air Intake for sure. I am contemplating a COBB Tuner and dual catch cans. I am not expecting a huge increase in power, just a lil more sound and any increase in power is good with me.

Well I don't know that I will be able to help you much, if any. At the age bracket now where that was a thing of the past-no longer interested, ha, but had alot of fun , numerous vehicles, but it was always V8 based. Began with 67 Mustang, last was 2011 5.0 I would think a Tune would make the biggest impact IMO, I had an SCT tuner on the 2011 mustang. You probably won't like this but IMO nothing is gonna make a 4 cylinder sound good, just fart can noises. Hope others will chime in and be more helpful. Good Luck and have FUN with the adventure! Oh, these articles might help a little if your interested:

I don't want to add an exhaust as I am older myself and hate the way these 4 and 6 cylinder engines sound with exhaust. I already have a '22 5.0 Mustang that is loud if I want to hear that. But I do like the sounds of the blow off valve and CAI. That is really the only sound I want from this lil engine.

I’m adding the magnaflow cat back next week and will be doing detailed before and after video sound clips. I believe for most of us older guys it’s the right balance between “I wish the truck had a little more of a performance sound” and “I don’t want to sound like the Honda civic fart boxes”.

I'd settle for a better tune all around. Doesn't even have to be performance related. A good daily driver tune and a remap on the shift points. One reason I loved my Tacoma was all the support it had. The transmission on my Maverick could definitely use a remap. That alone is a life changing experience. Damn thing hunts worse than Elmer Fudd.

I wouldn’t do the K&N style air intake since that’s not really a true closed system, it’ll basically just suck in hot air. I’m planning on doing the aFE Performance one which is an enclosed “true” cold air intake. It also integrates with parts of the existing stock air intake, which is nice.

I made my own intake with a 45 degree aluminum pipe and AEM dry flow filter. No clue if it helps performance, but I can hear the turbo now and that’s what I was after lol. Intake temps are slightly higher than the stock box but not by much.

BOV options
Cheap: For Ford ECOBOOST Turbo Blow off Valve Adapter BOV Mustang Fusion Fiesta Escape | eBay
Middle: Steeda 555 3215 Mustang/Fusion/Maverick Blow Off Valve Adapter Mustang/Fusion/Maverick (15-23)
Best: Turbosmart Kompact EM Plumb Back BlowOff Valve - Ford Maverick 2.0L for Maverick (good-win-racing.com)

I got the Fast Maverick warm air intake on Ebay for a really good deal and I already loved the sound of just the cheap BOV but man did adding this intake take it to the next level

Do not remove the stock resonator. It will sound absolutely terrible, I have heard it politely referred to as a kazoo. There are various bolt on kits but don't underestimate the tools it takes to bolt up your own exhaust. Personally I'd go to a local muffler shop I trust that has some performance experience and let them figure it out, it will be a lot cheaper than a bolt-on. But make sure you have a resonator, LOL.

Atmospheric blow off valves have a particular sound and appeal but no performance gain. Most cone filter intakes are actually less power than stock.

If you really want performance, get a tune. Do some research, ask questions, make a choice. JB4, Livernois and Cobb Tuning would be on my shortlist. JB4 offering the least but also possibly being the most discreet. I recently discovered that I can buy E30 locally, cheap. That's completely changed my interest in a tune.

Looks like they have a firm shipping date of 7/26-

https://sbfilters.com/products/cold...VXGoWIx5Q7zPEcMa4nH42--DQeX37u4QaAq-pEALw_wcB

They added some interior sound videos after installation- Looks like a legit unit- Ill wait till till someone here as installed one :)
Seen a few different people with the S&B reporting fitment issues with some of the hoses and box seal. One guy has reported getting a check engine light after installing his although that sounds likely to be user error on the install. In general it seems like there are some kinks to be worked out on the early units they're sending and that they have been correcting any issues that come up.

I've been happy enough with my aFe intake that I haven't really looked too closely. I had a fitment issue between the filter and box when I first got it and aFe actually ended up revising the design slightly and rotomolding me a brand new box.
