Ya, High octane, only for turbo boosted Maverick. And not all of the list items come in every Maverick.
I have taken to using 93 octane in my hybrid (initially as a test) and my seat of pants feeling is that it does make a difference.
That's the feeling you get from your wallet being less thick and bulky in your pants pocket.

I disagree, it’s probably about a wash to be honest with you. I get paid for mileage and it doesn’t pay less because I have a hybrid.

If there was an easy way to “prove it” I would. But it sounds like I would have to jump through a lot of hoops to do it.

With this engine it’s probably as simple as getting 191 instead of 188 horsepower by using 93, but there does seem to be a difference.

If I didn’t think so I would have went back to 87.

Hybrid has a high compression ratio, and so a higher octane may help prevent knocking. I run 91 mainly because where I buy it, it is pure gasoline and not an ethanol mix.

I guess we can put this as #11
Incorrect interpretation of the manual. I wish the manual would explain things better.

An Atkinson Engine means:
Larger expansion stroke than compression stroke.

The compression stroke is 20% to 25% smaller than the expansion (full) stroke.

The full stroke is 13:1.
The expansion stroke is about 13:1

The compression is less than 10:1. Like an average car.

Notice how "boost" increases "effective compression ratio"?

The Atkinson Engine lowers effective compression ratio. It is literally the opposite of turbocharged, which lowers horsepower, but gains MPG.
The "battery boost" compensates for the reduction in power.

I did my first "break in" oil change at 800 miles. The oil was definitely a strange green color. I didn't tow anything before 1k miles just to be safe but that's just me. Now it would be nice to have tail lights on my tow package. Luckily I just received the letter that parts are now available.

Nice list. Thanks.

As far as higher octane ,. It has been tested I think Car & Driver did it. NOT on a maverick but the results would be similar. Yes you increase MPG a little and gain a little more HP. Its because the car can advance the timing faster and more and not get pre ignition (knocking) with higher octane gas. Its rather simple from my racing days we could have faster old style mechanical timing advance when we used 112 motor octane race gas. Retard timing when I street gas.

Is it worth it NO according to the test you just wasted money for a slight increase in MPG or power depending on how you drove. BUT hey if you like wasting money go for it.
