Has the OLM called for an oil change before 12 months/10k miles?

As the title says, I'm curious as to whether anyone has gotten to 0% on the oil life monitor before hitting 10,000 miles or 12 months. I know that, given the right operating conditions, it can call for an earlier oil change, but it seems like most people aren't experiencing those conditions. I'm at 3,800 miles and 65% oil life remaining per the Ford app and I drive a mix of probably 25% city, 75% highway miles, with a decent amount of cold starts and use of remote start during the winter (I'm not clear on all of the variables which might affect Ford's OLM algorithm, as I've heard conflicting reports).

Mine kicked in at 1 year. Considering I drive approximately 5,000 km/year I wondered why it said I needed to change oil. I later looked in the manual and it recommends a bare minimum of 1 Year regardless of minimal distance. After my oil change, it recalculated based on how much I drove in that year and it assesses the oil change at 365 days now. In other words, it knows how much you drive per year and adjusts accordingly even if I haven't driven very far. I bet you if I drove it 1 km in 364 days, the 365th day it would say 0% and that I should change my oil.

I've got 1600 miles and Oil Life at 70% All around the area commuting trips about 15-30 minutes, no real highway. Check the oil every other week for any weirdness, but seems like these trips are taking care of any water in the oil and battery charging.

Will change on my schedule somewhere below 50, so it's planned with everything going on in life. May take it to my original dealer an hour away for the road trip and free ice cream and BBQ on weekends. Bring the entire family and I'll make money on the deal.

I've had one go past 10,000 miles in under 1 year.
I've had one go 6,000 miles to 0% in 6 months while towing.
The current oil is at 29% remaining at 9850 miles (no towing).

My theory, the lower your MPG the faster your oil wears out. And when you think about it, burning gas is what wears out your oil, not really the miles.

I change mine every 5k. Why? Because direct injection and oil isnt a good combo. Add turbo to that. Turbos are really hard on oil.

For the cost of an oil change (diy with quickjacks) it doesnt take any longer than 20 minutes. I see no benefit in stretching the life of the oil change.

Mine says it estimates I will need a change in about 400 miles/1 month, which is less than 4k miles since the last change. It is also only about 10 months. I changed it last August. So I am being prompted well short of both 12 months and well short of 10k miles.

My driving is mostly short drives of less than a few miles and only a duration of maybe 10 or 20 minutes.

And would it be safe to say your average mpg is less than window sticker rating?

I have a feeling the OCI corresponds to your MPG. With lots of electric miles, my OCI will be longer. By nature and by design.

Does Ford recommend 10k for the EcoBoost? I thought it was 5k for EB.

I have about 6000 miles on my oil now and the OLM is at 23%. The truck is planning for 8300 miles but I will change it within the week. I am really having a hard time NOT sending this sample in to be tested because I did with the previous oil change and this would be a great apples-to-apples comparison.

My previous oil change I went 6630 miles in a similar timeframe, but the OLM was at 50%. This was during the summer.

Winter and cold weather lead to much more idling and much worse fuel economy.

This is a literal case of - YMMV - your mileage may vary.

At 10,000 miles I am going to siphon out a sample and send to Blackstone Labs and leave the oil in until the report comes back. The oil change was done in October.

I'm 99% sure the used oil report will say the oil is OK for a bit longer. Unless Dealership gave me crappy oil. I asked for Ford house brand full synthetic.
