U was in the same boat. Most dealers down here have about a 20% premium on the Santa Fe and Maverick. The warranty on the KIA is great yes. Wifes had three SOULS . Nice Little car. Enjoy the Santa Fe and don't look back!
we have kicked the idea over, too dam bad they wont let us do a deal with someone, if we dont take it, but they said WE (ME) has to buy it, the person on the original order, then I could resell it, some parts that SUCK, among even having enough to pay cash for it, is I have to buy it pay Seles tax-reg. get it tagged and insured-etc. then the poor sap that I would sell it too has to pay all that crap,sales tax etc all over again!. I have not even got to drive one yet, they never seem to have one to drive, most all are presold orders, I see more and more running around. another dealer had a used 22 xlt w/8,500 miles on it , and they still wanted $32,000 , dont know what they got but it was gone in 3 days.If we had the $$$ and not in our late 60's and trying to cut back some,fixed income etc. I would LOVE to have both, we still have I figure 2 and 1/2 months if all goes well before we see it.by then who knows the prices and dealer stock.
at least ,now, it looks like some dealers around us are now selling santa cruz at sticker,you just cant find the SE like I got, could not afford the SEL or limited etc. even the SE is loaded for my taste, more than the mavercik xlt we ordered we only ordered the trailer hitch, you still cant compare mileage of the hybrid,maverick, but I seem to be getting middle to high 20's so im happy. its amazing how much stuff my wife can cram in the Kia soul, she is doing local art shows. and then who knows on mavericks, if a dealer even puts one on the lot to sell, they, now are discounting the f-150 $5,000 or more looks like, they had almost NONE on the lot for about a year. now they have a bunch of them.
Wife goes saleing ( yard saleing) Sometimes I wish the Soul was a smart car. I told her the warranty is void on the Maverick if it goes to thrift stores or yard saling.
that was part of my wifes plan it was to be her maverick, but now she says all her art show etc.s tuff fits in the kia soul,so we may pass on the maverick,as even her pop up tent fits all the way inside the soul, and would stick out the bed of the maverick.
Better be careful. My wife and I separated and she left all the crap behind. At least she took the damn dogs.

Nothing wrong with liking the Korean fella. Just don't get fooled with the warranty. It exists because nobody in their right mind would buy one without it. Id you aren't going to be around in 100k miles don't matter. Just Google the SC platform for recalls and fires. Ford knows trucks Hyundai not so much. That's why I stuck with the Maverick. After 47 years we are going nowhere, except up someday. I would like to get one of those bag dumpsters and go to town. But the dogs are going no where. Sweet lady, but gotta buy buy buy.
