waited 16 months so far for a hybrid base XLT,still on order, 2 weeks ago I got a santa cruz SE with AWD, at sticker ,really like it so far. really like the warranty . has alot more on it than the base xlt, even being the base Santa cruz, I know its hard to compare cant compare mileage w/hybrid but it still should get in middle 20's in rwd. the maverick was my wifes order, but she said she now may keep the kia soul? hard to tell, hard to tell if we ever get it anyway??? at 68 I may be "gone" before they build the maverick!! for now we leave the order in as the dealer said no problem getting back the dep. I would like to have both, but its up to the wife !!! we shall see.

Sorry to hear that young man. It's unfortunate that you still haven't received your Maverick but you made a good choice getting the Santa Cruz. The only thing that matters is what's best for you and your wife. Enjoy your Santa Cruz and keep us posted on how it's holding up.

I had a Santa Cruz parked next to me the other day in a parking lot. I didn't mind. It made my Maverick look better. I appreciate what you and all the other Santa Cruz owners are doing.

Enjoy the SC and please drop a line in this thread now and then to let us know your ownership is going. I had the same experience as FromAway in the post just above, but I had a completely opposite reaction. I find my Maverick to be dull and drab, even in HPR. I parked next to a light blue SC at our grocery store and that SC really popped. I still might trade my Maverick later this year for an equivalent SC SEL AWD.

I'm definitely not in the SC haters club. Lots of things the SC has that I kind of envy going on 5 months and 5,000 miles in my Maverick, from a superior bed material to better tech to far better overall quality. I see a lot of FUD about the SC here, which I just dismiss as children acting out.

Glad you got new wheels. Hope you enjoy it. No need to apologize. You gave it your best shot and most people would do the same thing.

Hope you like it, bud. They're not my taste but I genuinely hope you're happy with your selection. 👍

16 months is way too long to wait. I don’t blame you for looking elsewhere. Good luck and you may have made another person happy when yours does come in…if it does.

You did the right thing, doing what makes you happy. If everytime you are behind the wheel you are happy, then it is a win. I am on the endless apology email list from Ford as well and everyday my trade is worth less and less. it is a Toyota Rav4 hybrid with 49k miles so worth about $24500 in trade. Convinced I will never see my hybrid this year, and by the time I get it the trade will be worth $12500 if I am lucky! Rav4 is nice but not what I wanted.. My wife has a Jeep gladiator and it is so much fun to drive and a blast in the summer stripped down. I am looking at a used Rubicon gladiator Monday, that is about 6k more than my Maverick order. Hybrid Maverick would have been great, but I can get something I will enjoy and could care less about the mileage. I will keep my order and if the gladiator gets to be too much, I will trade it for my 2025 Maverick. ;)

Congrats on the new vehicle. Personally I don't like how the SC looks. My wife also saw one and was like what the heck is that thing.
