I've been debating which tires to buy and dropped a couple of options into a sheet to compare and then figured I might as well put a bunch more images in as maybe it will be helpful to others when choosing tires.

I did my best to gather the correct tire and size information but if any of these are your truck and I got it wrong please let me know.

Doubtful even with a lift. People can't seem to get any tire in a 245/70R17 to fit other than the same Toyo you're looking to install. The problem is that 245/70R17 is a 30.5" tire while 235/75r17 is a 30.9" tire. Yeah, it's only another .2" (radius) but it hasn't been tested. Why don't you want to go with the 245/70R17 in that same Toyo tire? Price?
I was trying to keep the tire narrow , hoping less of a hit on gas millage . My first choice was 225/ 75 r17 ,they are 30.3 . But there is not much tire choice in that size . Thanks

I went with Falken Wildpeak Trail.
I like the ride but they are still 3 peak rated. Made for unibody vehicles. Look really good too

I'm considering these as well. What size did you go with?

Just got my new shoes installed. Bfg Ko2 in 245/65r17. I can confirm I don't notice any rubbing and I think it looks a lot meaner. The tires do seem to stick out just enough to spray dirt on the side even in just my short drive home. That being said I do intend on adding wheel spacers and the rough country 2 inch lift in the future so I'm sure it's only going to get dirtier 😎

Although I think (and have seen) you could definitely squeeze 70s or 75s in there but I wanted to keep my speedo and mpg as close to stock as I could so I think these were a good compromise.

Mind sharing a pic straight on to see how much they stick out?

235/65R17 Firestone Destination A/T2 mounted on 17x7.5 Sparco Terra in bronze.

About a +1-2lb weight difference from stock since these wheels are substantially lighter, and these tires supposedly have a very low rolling resistance for the class so I'm interested to see how this affects mileage (Hybrid).

These are on the top of my list. Seems like the perfect AT tire for the hybrid. Any updates? Are they loud, did you notice any performance decrease?

Keep in mind my commute and driving style is the worst-case scenario for the Hybrid. 90% of my driving is freeway at 80-85mph and up/down 2000ft elevation to work. I'm currently averaging 34mpg over the last couple thousand miles since installing these tires. I was getting ~34.7 before that, but I only drove about 200 miles on the stock tires and really babied it. When I go a short distance to town or I'm driving through the city at stop lights I'm still getting way over 40mpg.

They're definitely louder than stock, especially when turning you can really hear the tread blocks and siping. That said I really would not notice if I wasn't paying attention, it's not like that loud thrum you get from trucks with huge AT/MT tires. I am not positive, but I might notice a tad more wind noise from up front. I didn't have enough miles stock to really tell, but I think due to the offset + width of the wheels and tires the fronts stick out from the fenders more and catch the air. That also may be affecting MPG a tad since I do so much high-speed freeway driving. Tires are super draggy.

Performance-wise I'm very happy. I've done some light trails/mud with great success, nothing crazy. Driven in torrential rain and they were very hydroplane resistant. No snow yet, but hopefully soon. In the dry, they take a second to load up going into a corner hot but they have decent lateral grip. I have been able to find the limit and this truck just understeers which isn't surprising. I didn't buy it to rip up the canyons. Even so, I'm pretty happy with how peppy the Hybrid is. Doesn't have much top end but the instant torque is great and I'm satisfied with the way Ford tuned the CVT.

Overall I highly recommend this setup. Keeps the weight very close to stock but you add a ton of versatility. The mileage impact is negligible IMO. Nothing like the 5+ mpg hits some people talk about for their tire setups on here.

Awesome update! Thanks. These will be what I get. They are a size bigger than stock, a heck of a lot more versatile, close to stock weight, they look good and you might be down only 1-2mpg. Seems like a win win for the hybrid guys!

Thanks for the reply and also for detailed driving data, which helps for sure. I think its justified to be happy with your setup for sure. Some compromise was made, but it was the right kind of compromise.
I don't think people understand how important tire/wheel weight is on a vehicle like the Hybrid Mav as well the importance of aero. Just 1 pound of unsprung weight added at each corner is equivalent to dropping 80lbs in the bed...it adds up.
My initial plan for my Hybrid was to lower it, but I have enjoyed the versatility in the first couple weeks of ownership and am now looking to go to a On/Off Road AT tire similar to this combined with a lightweight wheel that I like. I think I would rather have the extra height and cushy ride.
Thanks for your info, every little bit helps.

Has anyone tried to downsize the wheel to fit more sidewall in? Haven't seen any R16's on this thread, but it seems like a beefy winter tire would take potholes easier and maybe improve traction. Might be the only way to get a 70 on the hybrid.

They won't fit, they do (barely) on the Bronco Sport but the Maverick has larger rotors and calipers.

Got it. Wondered if there was something I was missing. Thanks, USACE!
